[Suggestion] Manual save

I looked around and didn't see it listed anywhere but the various posts that I've read had me wondering if a manual save button in campaign boards would be feasible for the developers to put in. This would help a lot of people that experience lost maps due to being not connected to the server. Not sure how it would be implemented but it could help out with this issue. Example : A gm has been on his campaign board for over 3 hrs working on maps, journals, handout sheets, and his sounds (I've went 5 hours once) but decides to take a break so he leaves himself in the board while he goes out to eat or catch a movie. When he comes back home, he decides to leave the board and go to bed. The next time he logs in he discovers that the maps and such he was working on is all gone. Now if he had a manual save button, he could click on that and have his computer reconnect to the server to make the save. Does that sound usable or even feesible?

Sounds absolutely usable to me, sounds wonderful actually. Can't speak on feasible as I'm not a dev, however considering it does save when you go to exit the game, I'd think it should be. Would actually be useful in that sense and in games, since the possibility of one person dropping connection for even a millisecond could potentially cause this same disconnect.

k2trf, when you have a Roll20 window open it constantly updates with the server. All changes you make are updated as you make them.  However, there may be a problem with the connection when you leave the window open for hours without doing anything. This appears to be what Metroknight is trying to address. - Gauss

Yes it is Gauss. There has been more bug/help posts just about that recently. Members are spending long times working on maps and such the coming back later to discover all their work gone. If there was a manual save switch then people could click on that if they are not sure if it was saved.
Since they have a program to save stuff already, a save button wouldn't be overly difficult IMO. They would just need to make a button that when clicked sets the timer they already have in place (if it is a timer based save) to x (where x is the value when the save activates) or sets the condition that is required to save to be true. Then the already established save code would do the rest.
