Just to be clear, you can use the API to make a macro that will act as a toggle for what you have in your audio files?    Is there any chance that it will be made available to the masses in the future?

One can never say what might happen in the future.  At this point in time, audio manipulation via macros requires the use of API, which is a Pro feature. As the original question has been answered, I'll go ahead and close this thread.
