Island Of Iss Campaign Mode

This would be like a campaign taking place on the island but your characters are removed from the "timeline" of the phases and put into an ongoing adventure starting at level 1 that moves along at its own pace. Instead of being clunky like most play-by-post adventures we would use the benefits of the VTT to simulate combat and have our own map to move our tokens too. The pace would be basically determined by the players instead of slots and the group would be consistent. The setting would be the island and the adventure would have tie-ins to things that happened in the world. So .. sort of a campaign set in a living world. This extra gameplay is for players interested in having a more consistent gaming experience along with their island experience. Leveling would progress at a slower pace depending on encounters and goals being met. I would probably start with one journey on the Iron Kelpie and have more interactions with the captain and crew offering a fuller experience with the details of the journey and then getting to the island and continuing the journey interacting with player characters as NPCs etc. I think it could be fun if we had a consistent group(s) to do it.   I am willing to run 2 separate adventures I already have ideas for.  You would make level 1 characters for this adventure.  They would not level with MP and you would not gain KP.  This would be separate from the main island goings on but would be in the world and may have effects on the world and the world changes may effect it.  If you are interested in this sort of adventure please express your interest in this thread.  (even if you expressed interest before)
Interested.
The other PBP game I've been playing had to stop, so I'm interested in this. I think the smaller group might lend itself for easier Role-Playing. I am willing to give this a shot.

I'll gladly sign up.
I might be able to join in
Clearly interested!
Me I already voted on the other thread
Yea. depending on time. Mine never seems to work out :P
I too would be interested
Yeah, I'm interested too. My main issue would be the time also, since I'm in a different timezone than most here are.
OK .. so clearly we have enough players for 2 groups .. or 1 larger group .. would you prefer two smaller independent threads or one large group in a single thread.  because we have less limitations with the tabletop on here .. a larger group is not a deal breaker like in normal tabletop games.   GM advantage .. run 1 campaign and not 2 Player advantage .. not worried if everyone does not post GM disadvantage .. having to change the CR to fit appropriately without killing pc's Player disadvantage .. getting lost in the crowd.   So .. here is what we are going to do ..  We are going to start with one group on the ship .. I will start a map and a thread on how to get started for campaign mode.   If the whole group is participating well I will consider splitting into 2 dedicated groups .. if the group seems spotty .. i will continue with one group. Sound good .. yeah .. great .. Proceed to the thread XXXX to get started. I will replace XXXX in a second.
I prefer the larger group, to keep play more consistent.
I can see 2 teams, with different objectives... Seeing how do they shape the world, and clash between each other (Not necessarily violently). It can be the same campaign, players between groups can join forces, or change sides, or whatever. I think separating people into 2 groups will give the competition extra ^^
Regardless of how it's done, I generally prefer two groups as smaller groups are often easier to work with and every player has more defined roles. However that being said, though I as a player prefer 2 groups, I'm sure running 2 groups as well as the normal game itself would be a bit much for the GM.
In this format I like the bigger groups....less issue when someone misses their post.  I've GMd a few threads with only 3 people in them...If 1 person fails to post for a slot or 2 then it is a major drawback for the party.
One large group would be better
Yeah, I think 1 group would be best too, on account of player availability. And if it works out we can always split the party ;P
