LFG+ST Exalted 2E

I'll just come out and say it. I've never really played the game before. But after reading both the Tv Tropes page and hearing many stories of "Glorious Solar Bullshit." I've come down with a rather large urge to play the game itself.  Since I never played the game as a player, I am hesitant to try it as a DM. That and I have heard many things about the system itself being slightly..... off. So for now, I'll just throw up this topic to see if I can get any interested parties. And while I can understand that running a game like this can be similar to herding rabid cats. I tip my hat to anyone with the courage to try.
If you want "Glorious Solar Bullshit", you'll want 3e. The system is better balanced (even if the book itself is... poorly formatted), and benefits Solar players, and has a more solid combat system. If you want literally any other splat, then you have to engage in the rocket tag mess that is 2.5, and slog through reading minimum of 1200 pages of PDFs (Core, your Splat, any supplements such as Glories of the Most High, or Broken Winged Crane, and then the 500 page Errata document), and that's if you know what splat you want to play (or are allowed to). If not, you have to read through 6, maybe 7 books to settle on what you want to play. As a result, the player base is very small, because of an incredibly high bar to entry. I currently run 3e, but it's text-based, with a long-term group.
I see. I guess I'll see what I can do about getting my hands on the book for the third edition then. I take it that your game is currently closed from the public?
After getting my hands on some 3E material from a friend. I will agree with you. It seems to be a much easier to run. Thanks for the help. Now I guess I'll just go see if I can find a group for this  edition instead.
Epic J. said: I take it that your game is currently closed from the public? No. I have a single slot currently open, but it's based entirely on finding a player who is a suitable fit for the group and game. If you would like to discuss it further, you could certainly PM me regarding it, but I'm fairly strict about who I invite to my Exalted games at this point after a few people bailing.
