Graham M: I do something similar to what I think you're trying to achieve here: When making a GM-layer-map, use a program like GIMP or Photoshop to render invisible the playable areas (Anywhere you're expecting action.) Then save (and import it) as a .png, which allows transparency. This leaves the walls and secret doors 50% translucent, and the places you're likely to have tokens 100% transparent. Example: Player View Just blanked out the white of the floors; the numbers and stuff were all left behind. You can see how the dead critters are half-visible, in the walls between the rooms. Red squares indicate secret doors. Just a tip! -Phnord
