LFG to play ALL of D&D 5th Ed. Adventurer's League content in AL strict legal format starting from "Lost Mine of Phandelver"

Hello everyone, I'm a 30 years old serious gamer and I want to get into D&D 5th edition coming in from 3.5. I think the Adventurer's League format is awesome and I love the part of the Forgotten Realms that it is taking place in. So I'm really motivated and I really want to get through ALL the content . But on top of that, I'd really like to do something special and stream live on Twitch.tv and maybe also edit a video for Youtube, where we could go back and watch/listen to the campaign again. I think it would be really cool. If you want to know a bit more about me you can go and check out www.twitch.tv/Gh0st1Gaming I'm UTC -05:00 timezone and I'm available to play on weekends mostly but I could probably also make some room during the week for a great group. I understand that the entire AL collection represent quite a bit of an investment for any DM, so I'm willing to split the cost. Something we can discuss at least. Also my first language is french since I'm french Canadian, however, I speak english fluently. If you have any question feel free to ask. Let's get this group together! Update #1: Unfortunately haven't heard from our DM and don't have a replacement at this point. Update #2: Good news! The project has secured an awesome and committed DM! So this project is a go and we'll be hosting encounter auditions on Sunday April 3rd. Look for the official announcement that will be posted on this thread for details on how to appy! Auditions spots will be limited and will be a first come first serve type of thing, so make sure to keep an eye on that announcement. We hope to meet all of you! Update #3: Auditions sign-in is now enabled, so go ahead and reserve your spot ASAP! See post for the link and details. Update #4: Here is the link to audition #1: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/44062/d-and-d-5e-adventurers-league-audition-number-1-for-a-larger-campaign we have one spot left!
I would be very interested in this, as well. I've been meaning to get through all of the 5E stuff, but so far I've only ran Murder in Baldurs Gate (which was super fun). I'd be glad to DM if someone has a PDF copy of the material.
I can DM, I have all the core books for 5e, plus SCAG, the Hoard of the Dragon Queen adventure, and the supplements. However, because I'm limited to text, would you have room for me?

We could look into pooling some money to legally acquire the electronic copies of all the material from the DMsGuild.com. Since I'm planing on streaming this on Twitch.tv and also upload some videos on Youtube, sometimes I receive generous donations to help buy games or material to generate content. I would gladly put some of that donation money toward getting the DM and the group all of the adventure material we need.
Bonjour Gh0st1 ! I'm UTC-5 as well (Niagara area, Canada), and just dropping by to say this sounds amazing. I'm currently involved with a group, so wish you luck with this, and would love to hear about it / watch it as it unfolds!
I'm interested. I'm CST, so it's only an hour of difference. I really want to play D&D5e!
I'd be interested in playing through the 5e AL content, and pitching in for content shouldn't be an issue. Are you looking to DM or play, or would the post rotate?
So, it sounds like we may have the beginnings of a group. I have no problems doing a DM rotation or just DMing the whole thing, either works equally well for me. Let me check out prices on everything & see what I can find.

I'm going to be a player. However, Clif H. seems like a solid DM, so I'd be very happy if he accept to DM the whole thing. What I've seen is that some huge campaign have some other DMs popping in and out sometimes to help the main DM by playing sidekicks or important villains. I think this formula can work, but I believe it's preferable to have one DM for the story telling purpose who acts as the "director" and have final say on everything related to the campaign of course. I'd really like if this campaign have a focus on story and character development. I think it would make up for a good show and an interesting Youtube series people could follow. I think we should start with the adventure "The Lost Mine of Phandelver" which is included in the "Dungeons and Dragon 5th edition Starter Set" which is about 25.00$. I heard great things about this adventure even though it is considered "pre-season 1" but still legal for AL. This adventure alone will probably take a few weeks if not a few months to get through (if we survive), and we could acquire more material as we go instead of buying all at once. The complete season 1 material is about 30.00$ and will be good for months. So Clif, when would be the best time for you to play? We should try to give you a bit more say in this, since you'll be the center focus of this project.

I only chat using text. If thats not cool for DMing, id be willing to attempt help pitch in, but for me, i have hardbacks, so I have some good materials.

Unfortunately, I think voice will be essential in this campaign since one of the secondary goal is to stream it and also possibly make episodic videos out of it. So maybe we can help you get/buy/find a mic if you're are really interested. I'm sure we could find some reasonable and cheap solutions together.
Ok guys, so we're looking at starting the game in about 3 weeks to a month. For those interested, this gives you time to finish up the games you are currently involved with. It also gives you time to get up to speed with 5th edition, read the rules, think of some character concepts. Also I would recommend you read about Adventurer's League if you are not familiar with it. Here are some good links to start with: http://dnd.wizards.com/playevents/organized-play http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/events/adventurers... http://dndadventurersleague.org/sage/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions_%28FAQ%29
If you're still looking for players, I'm also interested in doing this. I'm a complete DnD noob though. I have all of the 5e core books, all set for online play. UTC -07:00 here.

Hi, yes we are still looking for more players. We're going to be ready to launch the campaign in about 3 weeks. So at that time, I'll update this post, I'll send you private messages and I will also create a post inside the Looking For Group Listings with details. So I'd say for now, think of a character concept that is "Adventurer's League" legal and read the rules to be a bit more comfortable with them whenever we start.
This sounds amazing, but im in PST time.. If your time works for me i will definitely be interested!

Please PM or post if you would. Cheers Hello Kevin! Mastering the Roll20 platform will be most important for main DM and the other part-time or assistant DMs. It is easier for players to gradually learn more of the platform without slowing the pace of the game. We're looking at a weekly Saturday game during the afternoon/evening EST time (UTC -05:00). And we're probably going to do voice through Roll20 or something like Discord. Whichever is more practical and clearer. Keep an eye on this post until we launch the campaign in about 3-4 weeks. Make sure you get up to speed on Adventurer's League in the meanwhile. And also think of a few character concepts.
Long time d&d player coming in hoping to learn 5th edition. I'm 28 and live in central Oregon. I find myself with a lot of free time recently and thus the sudden rush to find a 5th edition game. I hope to find a good group of people to come together and watch the characters grow together with. I've been reading the 5th edition book for about two days now. I love some of the changes I've seen. I play pathfinder on a weekly bases Sunday evenings. I have roughly 12 years at the table. I've played ad&d, 3.0, 3.5, 3.75(Pathfinder), 4th, and a few others. Been on roll 20 playing pathfinder for a hot minute. Really looking to get in on the 5th addition. I tend toward support and love nothing more than helping my group overcome the toughest of encounters. In short. PLEASE LET ME PLAY! Lol sorry had to throw that in there. I'm just really looking to get in there and play. I am learning but am willing to help where I can. Looking forward to hopefully rolling and role-playing with you all soon.
hey sounds like a lot of fun would defiantly like to play lot of experience with 3.5 in real life played a little of 5th interested to play a lot more specially with a good party
Victor said: Hi everyone! I've already PMed Gh0st1 expressing an interest in joining his campaign. I just wanted to let you all know that I will be hosting a 5E one-shot this Saturday (check the LFG for "The Burning Plague"). It will be something of a trial run, as I am new to both Roll20 and 5E. Could you post a link? I can't seem to find it.
Hey guys, Unfortunately I haven't heard back from Clif, and at this point I do not have a replacement DM.

Hi. I'd be interested in DM, as I have Lost Mines set up, already running it with one group, and as I posted above some time ago I love your idea of running through the Adventurers League. I'm posting as I was in touch with a group but haven't heard back from them for a few days, so unsure where that stands. I was considering a Sunday late afternoon / evening game (I'm GMT-5/EDT), but open to discuss a bit on time. See my bio at my profile ( https://app.roll20.net/users/1259203 ) to get a sense of my style, and let's talk.
Hey guys! Good news! The project has secured an awesome and committed DM! The people who have been following this thread might have a clue as to who it is... Yes it's Brett. We talked for quite a bit already and Brett is the perfect DM for this and we're going to be very lucky to be have him at the table, well online table sort of. So this project is a go! I say again, this project is a go! We'll be hosting auditions on Sunday April 3rd which will consist of a short and fun encounter. Look for the official announcement that will be posted on this thread for details on how to apply! Auditions spots will be limited and will be a first come first serve type of thing, so make sure to keep an eye on that announcement and apply right away. I can't tell you how happy I am to get this going. We hope to meet all of you! Stay tuned!
Here it is! Here is the link for more details about the auditions and the campaign itself: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/44062/d-and-d-5... Sign-in instructions are included on that page as well. The auditions are on a first come first serve basis, so sign-in ASAP!
We have one spot left for the "Audition #1" game. Once we fill that spot, we'll open up a 2nd audition this Sunday. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/44062/d-and-d-5e-adventurers-league-audition-number-1-for-a-larger-campaign
