I want to make it absolutely clear that this isn't a Roll20 campaign. I am part of a small team assembling the world of Thief for a Nevewinter Nights 1 Persistent World. What we need is players, builders, and scripters. Advertising for NWN1 these days is vital to the life of a server, so I am trying to get the word out wherever I can. What is Neverwinter Nights? A PC game from 2002, based on D&D 3.0. I have never experienced finer roleplay than what I've seen on NWN1. This is true for many people. The reason being it is all text, no voice, all in character all the time. What is Thief? This is a game series, currently 3 games in, with the 4th game coming soon for next-gen systems. Some say it is the grandfather of all stealth games. Set in a fantasy world with some steam-punk elements, it's all about stealing loot, sneaking, knocking people out, the whole stealth experience. In addition, it contains several different factions, some of which are opposed to each other. Such as the lawful Hammerites and the chaotic Pagans. Through all these elements, Thief provides a rich world for roleplay. Here's what we intent to do for Thief in NWN1: there will be 8 playable factions. Independent, or thieves like Garret. The Hammerites. The Pagans. The Mechanists. The Downwind Thieves' Guild. The City Watch. The Hand Brotherhood (the mages featured in a Thief 1 mission, we are also throwing Monks into their ranks). And lastly, the Keepers. We will be building every part of the city, every building that was ever a part of any of the Thief games. We intend to take a look at the cause of the mysterious cataclysm (the sudden appearance of the undead), the war with Blackbrook, as well as all the main and sub plots of the thief series. Starting and maximum level will be 6. Death will be near permanent, with Resurrection items being rare. All of the gadgets and items from Thief will be at your disposal, recreated as close as possible via NWN mechanics. We use CEP 2.4 for our server, and have a custom music pack with music from all 3 Thief games. These require no additional hak files however. We hope to garner your interest for our project.
