English speaking Finn looking for a group, 4e D&D, new to game

Hi, I am a 19-year-old finnish boy/man who's just found a new interest in playing tabletop rpgs. I don't know any irl groups or communities which play D&D so I decided to try and get to play from this route. So I haven't played a single game yet BUT I have read the PHB through and also created a couple of characters for the fun of it. I've also listened PennyArcade podcasts playing D&D and watched some sessions in Youtube.  My english is pretty good but at first I may have trouble to find the right words, but otherwise the language isnt problem. I'm pretty much free any night (GMT+2), between 4pm to 1am, weekends til 6am or whatever. So if you are interested in taking an almost-a-total-newbie to your group, I'd really appreciate it. I am not Finnish or in your Time zone but I used to work for a Finnish company and I got to visit Finland....does that count? I am newish to Roll20 and looking to get into something.  I am an experienced 4e gm/player.  I probably wont work for the time zone factor but keep me in mind and who knows I can shift my hours around a bit. GMT-4 (EST).  your 4pm will be my 9am. so doable I guess ;)

I didnt mean that i want to play with finnish only, I'll be happy if i could be part of any group that accepts me :) could you consider being a gm? Everybody who wants to play just states the time in their posts and let's advance from that.If we form a new group, first i think we should get someone to be gm, who creates the game and then says how many players the game can take

If Stephen would GM (I would love to but I think I'm way too new to the game to do it myself), I'd love to join your group.  I have a little bit of experience in 4e and am familiar with using roll20 from some of the other campaigns I've been playing.  My timezone is EST, so if you guys could start around 10-11am (5-6pm in GMT+2 I think), I'd have no problem joining.

I would certainly consider it.  I am new to Roll 20 in the since that I haven't run anything yet but I have played with a lot the tools and watched a lot of the demo videos and started a few campaigns.  I may have another player my son, 18 plays D&D 4.0 and is rather experienced as well but new to Roll 20.  What would you and Iva like to play character wise.

Oh, since we're all kinda listing our ages for some reason, I'm also 18, gonna be 19 in like a month.  Anyway, my favorite classes are Ranger and Cleric so I would probably pick one of those two although I would not mind making something else to make things interest or to fit a role within the group.  I'm a big fan of arcane classes though, so I would probably avoid those.  Eladrin, Dragonborn, or Shifter would probably be my race, but again, I don't mind playing under special rules/restrictions.

I had in mind like Dwarf or Human as Paladin or Fighter. My role could be human-striker or a dwarf-defender. Those are only what I'd prefer be, but actually I could play any role that is need to be filled :) So we have now 3-4 players and a GM possibly, if we can work the times. How are your weekends, could we think that we could start in saturday/sunday at 7 PM GTM+2 (12AM EST)? And are we talking about one game or some sort of ongoing thing? If everyone wants and we can work it out and start playing longer campaign, would we play every week, every other week or monthly?

Sundays work best for me.  I'm pretty busy Saturdays, so I won't be able to play that day.  I don't mind doing a weekly campaign if that's alright with you guys.

My GF is too ;D sadly she doesn't want to play. Do you live in Finland or? Changed my name btw. My name is little rare so it wouldn't be too hard to find and stalk me IRL :D

I'm an experienced 4e player from the PST time zone that would like to play on a weekday if possible. Weekends are pretty full for me.

For simplicity sake I am thinking of just doing H1 Keep on the Shadowfell  to start.  Of course breaking up into manageable sessions as needed.  How's that strike everyone?

If you still need a player I'd be interested. I am fairly experienced with 4e (playing a few months in a long term campaign, and a few short adventures) Since I'm from Germany, timewise I'm open to anything that's not late night in gmt+2, would prefer playing in the evening and on any day but monday, on which I'm already playing dnd.

That is the best thing to do as the group has so many newcomers. So what is the best time, who are in and so on? So you Stephen are the DM? If so, how many players you think should be in the group and what information you want from us before the start?

If you all will go easy on me as a VTT/Roll 20 newb. Then sure. I would like to keep it at 4 players or so for now.  My son ended up not being able to play right no so he can float if needed later on (fill in for others that can't make it one session or something).  We can flesh that stuff out later.  I will work up the other things I need and get back with you all asap.  I am making the beginning of the scenario and will have a link etc to send so we can get the ones that want to play in. Going as a first come first serve basis I would say this is the line up so far is: DM/GM- Stephen H. Player 1: Lael Player 2: Iva H. Player 3: Johnathan R. Player 4: Kain Possible Pool: Mike R. Edu M. We would like to shoot for Sundays  @ 12pm EST (GMT-4) Finnish Time 7pm (GMT+2).  We could start sooner if you would like. For confirmation I would like from the first 4 players what class and they would like to play. I have 2 accounts that have access to the character builder and can help with building a character (pm me, we can discuss). Characters are level 1 and start with whatever feats and class give them plus 100 g to buy equipment/armor/weapons/ or anything else. As i get people confirmed I will update this list and if some cant confirm we will move forward to the next people in pool.
