RP; A Word to be Kept

Once again returning without losses Eadric looks ever so scornful at the group as they embark onto his barge. This time though there might be less jokes and merriment for Torstan is in a bad way and Syvil plain refuses to talk to Reskin. As soon the barge hits the dock at Haven Syvil leaps of, and wanders off. He spends that day out and alone except for a short meeting with Erolith and a short stop to report to Adolfo. He returns again late at night, an unusually sour grimace on his face. The next day Syvil spends at the market; it seems that he has taken up haggling, and over fish no less. Soon barrels of dried fish, salted fish and cured fish are stacked behind the Tipsy Mermaid. The smell is none too pleasant but luckily by the next morning the barrels are gone; Syvil has left with horse and cart for Maladon. Eadric makes big eyes at the half-elf as he asks to board the barge and is sure to be telling the story much too soon, but that cannot be helped. With sometime left over to him and alone with Eadric Syvil takes to some small talk: How are things Eadric? Still well and deep in the gambling business I assume. Can't help but remember you'd a nasty bruise last time; as if someone had rough-handled your neck or some such. Think you might tell me what that was all about?

'I got in too deep with some rough customers; but your lot sorted me out and I won enough back to pay them off. Glad I ain't doing no more of them night hauls any more. I am too old for smuggling now.'
Syvil gives Eadric a serious look that lingers for a bit. You ever get yourself in trouble you come find me; understood? I won't have my favorite barge-man turn into a floater or something. Syvil disembarks and deciding that it's best to get this over with he steers the cart over the hills, past the bothy to reach the forest proper, and, the cave. There he unburdens the cart and sets about leaving the barrels just inside. Stretching his sore limbs afterwards he would rather have rested but instead he now goes to fetch more of the crystal and loads it onto the wagon, it might be valuable after all. For some good measure he also sets a flame to the corpse of the spider that lies in the cave fearing that it might be returned as some horrible abomination if he's not careful. With that he leaves, with no intention of coming back anytime soon.
As Syvil waits on the maindland side of the sound after completing his errand he might watch out over the bay to see the barge approaching to pick him and his wagon back up. The barge is not empty however, a very tall and very large bronze skinned man labours about on it. As the boat drifts closer it is easy to see the man is covered in very distinctive tattoos on the left side of his considerable bulk clear enough to mark him out as the strange Serpent Isles priest Iloa. Under the curious and cautious gaze of Eadric the bargeman the cleric had came to fulfill his offer and has been lovingly carving decorations into the wood work of the boat. Much is simple but pretty geometric or swirling patterns at the moment though Iloa sits near the boat master, a large chunk of what it turns out is rowan wood sits on the deck and he is carving a strange and bizzare statue from it. "What is it you call 'em face things again?" Eadric's voice drifts over the waters as he pilots his boat toward the dock "As I said, they are Tiki. They attract helpful spirits." The distintive rumble of the priest replies. "The spirits bring good luck or fertility or protection. Depends on what you carve. People tell me that this wood protect against bad spirits, so I carve tiki for protection. Make good figurehead for this boat yes?"
