RP Endeavour upper city

Continuation of  this . Marokin looks a bit startled when Hans of House Kleiber introduces himself, he nods and bows to him. "Oh thank you dear Sir, for sure I will follow your invitation and am honoured to do so." he says, a bit confused. "May I ask what you brings you, dear Sir, to this place in the lower parts of the city? It is rare that I see here someone as eloquently dressed as you. Personally I think there are finer places in terms of the interior but the company here is quite astonishing. Don't you agree?" After talking a bit with Sir Kleiber Marokin excuses himself. "Unfortunately I have to prepare for an assignment, but I look forward to seeing and entertaining you again." he bows and then returns to a room in the back. While fiddling around a bit with his lute to figure out how to make people more at ease with his music he ponders away. "The upper city huh? Well it's about time I get to nicer establishments to play... but what does this mean and who is that guy... maybe our little big friend knows more... Aldolpho... He seems to be quite invested and established here... "And then what is this Rose about?" he had heard of the brotherhood of the Rose. "Was this it? The group that people here laughed about as drunkards? Well drunk people tend to tell the best stories, a saying goes. And who can blame someone for preferring to spend their life enjoying themselves instead of risking it going out in search of glory, treasures and might." and to some regard Marokin is feeling a bit of anger and jealousy towards these people, knowing that he himself could not do it, he could not sit still and see the world pass by without caring for it too much. A part of his mind tells him "Use them, exploit them, they forfeited there right as equals, became mere interior of the world. They are a tool as a stool to sit on. Exploit the upper city!" He shakes it off. "Well, the least I can do is check it out and take a look at the upper city, right? And see what else can be gained from there." He packs away the lute, noticing that it did not necessarily help him calm down, a different tune will have to be found and lays himself to sleep. Pondering about the name Kleiber and searching through his memories. The next morning the first thing he does is to search for Aldolpho to ask him about these roses, the upper city and this Sir Kleiber.

Adolfo is downstairs in the Mermaid; nursing ahangover. That damn cider that Boone got me is potent stuff. Now what can I do for your Marokin? The Roses; well don't you believe they are quite as harmless as you've been led to believe. I have a feeling they have some purpose here in Haven; if only I could find out what on earth it is. Klieber; the name rings a bell; I think that family is from one of the Provinces, not Valmar itself. Indeed; that's it! They are a new and up and coming family who got ennobled during the invasion of Medara. I wonder what he did to get himself sent here? As for the Upper City; it's everything the lower City is not! Clean for one thing; and ordered like a garden; palatial and well patrolled. If you go up there; watch your step.
Any services that you know or can recommend? Taverns up there? So they just became noble? I haven't heard much about this invasion, but I think it must take quite something when your family was just granted that honour to fall that far to be send here... I will keep your advice in mind. Oh, and you should try this against the headache. Marokin poors Adolfo some liquor. In my culture we believe that you need to not let your body become sober to fast. That will save you from the headache. In any regard. A lot of thanks to you.  He continues to ponder. Nobles are known for their intrigue and it would be most inconvenient yet maybe exciting to get caught up in between. Perhaps the only way to find out more is to actually go to the upper city. He continues some smalltalk with Adolfo before than retreating to a quiet place, starting to write a note.  Afterwards he walks out, strolling through the city. I also have to talk to Cain and Erolith about these languages they used... maybe they can teach me a thing or two about them.

Hmmuurrppthh says Aldofo what would I know about the Upper City? Taverns? I have never be allowed to drink in one. We are kept firmly in our places down here in the muck. I have heard tell of the Green Branch Taverna; just across from the Temple to Phillippa Agyptus but that's about it. It's said they sell that brew from Hunters' Inn. Thanks for this he says taking hold of the mazer you passed him.
Marokin bows to Adolfo and then drinks one more to him and leaves. He starts writing a note. "Dear Sir Kleiber, Hope this finds you well. This is Korinam the Tiefling bard you met in the tipsy mermaid and whom you invited to play for you in the upper city. I am happy and honoured to take up your invitation to the upper city. However, I do not know that area yet and so I rely on your proposition for a place to play there if you want to hear me again. How about this weekend? Would this be appropriate for you, dear Sir? Is there a way to ensure that I will find the right place? Either sending a map, directions or somebody to lead me there? Looking forward to hear from you. For getting into contact with me please send a messenger to Beldak at the Tipsy Mermaid. Yours faithfully, Korinam, the Tiefling Bard" He seals the message and then heads off searching for a messanger to bring it to Sir Hans Kleiber. Telling him to make sure it is delivered personally and that for a reply he should deliver it to Beldak at the Tipsy Mermaid. He then hands the messenger 5 gold and heads away towards the docks.

A message arrives 2 days says later and says; Master Korinam; I am pleased you decided to take my Master's offer up. I have included instructions to his Manse and hope to see you there on the morrow. The writ should be enough to see you through the guards at the Highgate.
Sitting in the Tipsy Mermaid Marokin, on a afternoon with little to do, looks at the invitation. "I guess have let this good man wait long enough..." He goes to his instrument, tunes them, knowing that going out into the cold will undo all his efforts. Thinks of some songs and packs his things: Lute, flute drum and a backpack. Leaving the rapier at home but still taking the dagger with him. Among others he takes a collection of papers on which he had written new songs. A thing for which here it seems is not an awful amount of time reserved. When going out he says to Adolfo: "Well, let's see what these upper city people have to offer. If I run into a good drink I'll bring you a bottle old bear. I'll try to heed your advice. If I am not back tomorrow, you might want to become suspicious and search for Korinam..." and he winks at him.  He opens the door, takes a big breath of the cold air. "Disgusting... as always..." tightening his robe he marches on. Up the Middle street and onwards crossing the square to enter the Guild District. Looking at the pass-byers his mind wanders off a bit: "I hope this is not some spoiled brat that takes itself to full... anyway, keep your mouth shut, you know what will happen otherwise... Those with a large purse alas usually hold very small bag of humour..." He is kicked out of his train of thoughts when a guard blocks his way. "Entry to these parts is not permitted to beggers." Marokin looks him up and down. Then silently holds out his invitation, bows to the guards and looks a head. "So this is it? The upper city... Careful, careful..." He looks to one of the guards: "Where may I find the Green Branch?" The guard points a direction and Marokin follows, keeping his eyes open for the new things to be found there. Looking at the shops and their goods, dismissing some as dealers of useless  bric-a-brac. Noting to himself the interesting shops. "I need to see to them later." He sniffs the air, making out for differences that are noticeable maybe only due to his heritage. He looks at the temples and searches for the place to put coin to the other gods, the ones that don't have a temple here. He takes his purse and drops 1 gold, thinking to himself: "Traveler, I have been stuck here far too long. Yet I feel like my journey has not ended and there is some place here I still have to go to. Help me find the place I need to go." drops a 2nd coin "Help me change what needs to be changed." 3rd coin "Give me the knowledge of the road." He takes another 3 coins, drops the first: "Tymora, give me luck when I need it." 2nd coin: "and skill when luck won't help." 3rd coin "and help me keep myself from the dark inside". Another 3 coins, 1st: "Olidammara, let me laugh like your sigil" 2nd: "Let me make others laugh like your sigil." 3rd "Let me enjoy each binge to its fullest." A smile runs across his face as he leaves the temple heading to the inn. He heads to the tavern and asks the barkeeper for a drink. Looks at the interior. "This is quite a difference to the lower town taverns" he thinks to himself. He puts down his drink and inquires about the price of a bottle. Then he unwraps the instructions. A sight escapes him. "Well, on we go." He heads out to the Manse and shows the guards at it the letter, while bowing. "Let the fun begin", he thinks to himself, entering the house.
