RP; Of Unicorns and Stamina

This conversation takes place at the start of winter; just before the adventuring season is about to end. The wind is chill and the last boats are coming home from trips out to sea. Doors are closed and stores are kept under close watch, winter is coming. Ithiloneth M. said: One evening as you are out healing the sick in the courtyard of the Lodge you spot a silhouette you wouldn't mistake anywhere; willowy, pointy eared and with a metal breastplate on Syvil is trudging down the street. For a minute it seems he is going towards the Lodge but when he spots you he changes direction and seems to heave a sigh of relief. Ser Cain! How good it is to see you out and about; not shut in that "holy house". But enough about that, I'm actually here to ask a favour. You see it'd be nice to have some proper training in endurance and Adolfo claims he is "all natural" though I've not seen any like him before. He did say that you might have some contacts that could train one in the arts of resilience? Believe he said something about the Unicorns and I've never dealt with them before, but you have? It would be ever so generous of you if you would help me get some training from them. SlothSlow said: Ahhhh yes I have met up with the unicorns and I am seeking to train my constitution with them I just need a little more experience before they will teach me their ways. Their price was 100g and that was with the healing I offered them you might be able to strike up the same deal if you ask them. I can take you to my contact and vouch for you but then again they will probably trust you more than me since you are more of the ranger type. Ithiloneth M. said: I'm sure your reputation is greater than mine by now; I have only the past to polish my name and no real deeds. You; ser and holy paladin, walk among the people to heal hurt and ill; surely they cannot haggle with you over cost when they know that much good will come from helping you! But I will take your advice; perhaps it is that I should ask them myself, say who would I speak to about such things? Care to introduce me? SlothSlow said: Cain steps behind the temple for a moment and rides out with his horse and carriage. He motions for you to get on and you set off into the winding streets shooing off vagabonds that get too close for comfort and finally you arrive at your destination and Cain talks to an important looking hunter of the Unicorns. Greetings friend you know I look to train with you to help gain resilience but I have another who wishes to do the same. He is another healer of sorts but you may find his healing somewhat strange but it is effective I have learned first hand the battering your rangers take on the road and having both of us to heal and train with you might lessen your men's burden so perhaps you two can strike up the same bargain. I have been to hell and back with this man and I shall vouch for him with my family's name.

Any friend of Cain's is welcome in the White Unicorn. Come inside friend; we are not your usual company. Here we are all equals........
Thank you, that's very kind. I'll just help Ser Cain with the wagon... Making sure that all is in order with Cain and the wagon, Syvil makes sure to walk behind Cain as they enter, if it is out of respect or something else is hard to tell but the effect is that Cain practically becomes his shield. With a slightly shy coloring Syvil addresses the guard who let them in: Really very kind indeed; all equals you say? My that does sound nice. Cain has told me that you are accepting healing as payment, a fact that reflects a most positive image upon the Unicorns, if I may say so. We have happen to have much the same skills, Ser Cain and me, though they might perhaps work a little differently in the specifics. Who would I talk to about making these arrangements?

You should speak to the Training Master Good Sir; his name is Haladir, and you can find him over yon. 7You step into the Unicorn Inn and find it to be a bustle of activity. Many animal heads adorn the walls, and weapons are also displayed there. At the center of the Inn is an open courtyard, surrounded by wings of the Inn on all sides. There, you find a tall well muscled man schooling a horse. on a lead rope. He turns to you and says; you must be the Blue Sash Cain was telling me about. Tell me; why do you wish to be trained.......?
I seek training to weather a storm which is brewing on Maladon. There will soon come a time when we will all have to stand fast or fall for evil stirs on the mainland. When that time comes I would not bend to darkness, but fear that my current ability is lacking and would see me fall. As for why I want these things I'm not entirely sure. Cain will have told you a little of me I assume and it is becoming increasing clear that my destiny is not just of my design. Syvil straightens a little, and something seems to twinkle in his eye; a warmth radiating out from him bringing with it a scent of spring, of bark and budding flowers. His voice is clearer and he speaks as a man who knows, without knowing how. Rather I stand with a force for good which has long since been forced to hide on Maladon; but I tell you no longer! No longer shall the evil corrupt and manipulate, no longer shall the living and breathing things on Maladon fear the Horned King. Though such a feat cannot be undertaken alone... Will you help me, Haladir?

Aye; a storm's brewing right enough. Even a blind man could see that. I'll train you Master Elf; though I warn you it will not be easy. I trained the Waysiders who kept watch on the Doomspikes. That is a terrible place; a relic of the Demonwars, but most of my men were worthy of that challenge after I put them through their paces.
I thank you Haladir of the Unicorns. You will find me a practical man Ser. On that vein; when do we begin? Syvil spends the winter training with the Unicorns .

After a winter of training, Cain and Syvil may gain the requested feat with an XP spend of 1/4 of the difference between their next level and their current level.
