It's a known issue. The devs have been working on enhancements like re-skinning them as in this  announcement. and update  here.

Sorry Austin, but basically what Doug said. If you want to use the 3D dice, for now before we get a chance to fix the color issues, you'll need to change your color so the black text on the dice is readable.
