C1 - Titans of the Demon Wastes - 2016 - 3 - 06 -- Season 3 Episode 03

Season 3 Episode 03 - Bad Guy Beat Down Real battle-fest.  in the vampire keep crypt there was 20+ unded servants in the walls that cam bursting out when the team stuck their nose in to poke round... statues were enchanted to block exits (very heavy.. took high str checks to push them aside)  also a necrotic discharger was in the central coffin that was causing burst damage to living creatures... that got dismanteld quickly but spat out noxious fumes that caused disadvantage to be around. Divine energy kept the horde at bay for the most part, letting the team dispatch them methodically with low risk of being paralyzed from bitew... once the room got cleared a short rest was interrupted by orcs finding their way down... after a number of killed orcs during negotiations, the team pushed the statues to block access and got some rest in.  door futher underground from the crypt led to nasty ghosts causing lie rain that kicked Mika's ass  to 1/2 health .. runing further unerground to get away from the apparitions led to the hollow river tunnels underground... south is out; north is up stream. Mika's commune with nature revealed black poodles in the nearby area .. a jelly fish foret suspended from the ceiling made for an annoy9ng time navigating though an natural cave chamber upstream , but persistent magic missles eventually burned a path trhough the paralyzing nettles.. no ret though; black poodles guarding the area made good indication that the vampire lair is nearby, though teh team was far too fatigued to deal with it properly.  heading out south signalling the fleet was easy for them to get picked up... long rest is available for the team to take and die back in fresh .s This is wednesday afternoon... Super Thursday is tomorrow when Bloody Poodle is expected to be in town for the event according o the flyers they found last session. Gang got some jellyfish poison to try out (1 dose)  Mika took a sack full of jellyfish tentacles for experimentation as well. Team gained level 11.
Notes : - Mika's commune with nature pinged on black poodles, tons o' jellyfish and a manmade structure to the E by NE (in relation to the entrance from the castle basement) carved into/off of the dry underground riverbed. this is assumed to be the most likely spot for the vampire lair - heading south down the dry riverbed gets you to an exit about 200 ft below horizon and a distance away from town. this is not a main river exit/outlet designated by one of the two giant faces spouting the river off the side of the cliff - the poodles that were harassing the team during the rest period were not collared and showed up in teams of three, which to me either means they are part of a rogue pack that somehow managed to skeedaddle and stuck around to use the town as a feeding ground [ we infringed on their territory so now they get i'gnant about it ] ... OR ... these are straight up summoned poodles used as a defensive measure to guard the undeground location we're trying to bust into (and harassing us because they can and should). - the distinct lack of any live humanoid threats belowground points towards vamp-central being close. - the two ghostly figures that were doing lifedrain drivebys are still around and probably guarding the entrance to the caves from the basement side of things - the admiral and his crew managed to capture two more ships further depleting poodle aerial resources. yay navy. - cleric-based undead crowdcontrol rokks like Dokken - the jellyfish are stationary and could technically be donkeypunched off the ceiling given enough time and a magic missile wand ... or be kept around as a passive defense measure
