I would love to see an IPad app that is compatible with playing with others who are on regular computers. My IPad has a better camera than my laptop, so I would enjoy better quality gaming.
Hello Liona,
A mobile version of Roll20 launched on our Dev Servers earlier today! I'll quote our developer Riley to give you some more info...
Mobile Support
The "alpha" of Mobile Support is now live on Dev. That means that you as well as any players in your games on Dev can now play using tablets. At this point it's been fairly well-tested on iOS (I recommend that you have iOS 6!) on iPad 2+. I don't think it is going to work on iPad 1.
You should be able to do everything on your tablet that you can do with the desktop version. At this point some tablet-specific stuff that would be nice to have (like pinch zooming) isn't in yet -- the first pass our goal was just to get the full interface up and running.
To gain access to the Dev Server you must be a Roll20 Mentor, which you can do by supporting us at this link (<a href="https://app.roll20.net/account/supporter" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/account/supporter</a>).
Why not just go onto the ipad's browser and log in and play through it? I do not own an Ipad so I may not be aware of any reason why this would not work.
I was thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy and would expect it's browser to be able to use Roll20. If anyone out there has a Galaxy, I would love your input on that.
That's essentially what they're doing. Making the roll20 interface functional through a browser. As of a few weeks ago, you could go to roll20, and request the desktop site, and it would let you view the page, though scrolling around didn't work very well, among other things. This should add ui functionality for tablet-type interfaces.
We are presently testing a mobile version of Roll20 on the developer server. Instead of creating individual apps for each tablet OS on the market, we are formatting Roll20 to hopefully run on a majority of tablet browsers.
Cheers, I just wanted to share my experience a little bit with you.
If you have an Flash able Browser (Im Using Photon) you can start Roll20 on the Ipad without a Mentor account. It's quite ugly and rough around the edges but it works. I'm looking forward to the Ipad App and cheering every day for the release. But I will happily use this opportunity to test Roll20 in my Tabletop Campaigns.
A lot of request for the IPad, but will it also be android compatible? I can get to these forums thru my tablet, but no playing yet. Looking forward to gaming vie this medium.

It works on android as long as you're running the mobile Chrome browser from what I can tell. Which means, if I remember correctly, that you need to be running at least Android 4.0.
