Nolax Takes? (AT)

To the southwest, the party discovered a rather large sign staked in the ground.  Dalaan Nolax!  The sign was written in goblinoid and translated into Nolax (apparently the name of some goblin) takes.  What does he take?  It looks like some kind of marker.  after exploring miles of land in the area they found many of these crude signs around as if something was marking the territory.  Nobody was sure who Nolax was and what he wanted but he apparently spoke goblinoid and wasn't afraid to write it down like some goblins are.  This discovery was of great interest to the outpost which was situated close enough that goblins might offer some sort of problem down the line.  The town held a meeting to discuss the situation.
Kellen stands at the first marker, starting contemplatively into the woods.

You are in a TOWN MEETING  (sorry if that was unclear)  .. but i'm sure you might go investigate soon.
Fizziwik addresses the gathering.   So, let's go ahead and quell any rumors.  Yes, we have found some strange markers to the southwest written in goblin which state "Nolax Take"  and no, we don't know who this Nolax is....yet.
We have a lot of company on this island. Have they always been here or are they getting here some other way?
Thats another question weve been trying to look into. It seems there is another settlement on the island, to the southwest, but im not sure what it is yet. I merely scouted the perimeter, and with a wagon, had to keep my distance.
Agela enters the room .. looks at those who have gathered around to discuss the situation.   Kellen, when you are done here I need to ask your help with something .. could you meet me in my office?
Are there any plans for sharing information like this regularly?  anyway, are we going to recognize his claim? I guess we should meet Nolax somehow. ooc: newspaper seems out of place but what I'm asking about.
Viggo .. we usually just post things on the wall over there if you haven't noticed .. using parchment.  Agela shakes her head and exits.   I will see you soon yes .. She nods up and down in Kellen's direction before leaving or waiting for an answer.

Ahh, yes. I will be comingwith you monentarily. I agree we should meet this Nolax fellow, but with his claim so close to our home we must be wary. He could prove a useful source of information, or trade, but he may also be a danger to our people. Kellen stands up to leave. Jared will stay here in my place, he will be keeping records at meetings such as these.
Notices the bare walls....
I actually have been gathering information from people around town pretty regularly. Its been quite interesting hearing all about the island. People are willing to share if you simply ask. Ive been collecting the information at my new tower, in a library of sorts.  Jared nods over to viggo. I havent been able to ask you because your name is later on the list and so often new things happen...
This is why we hold regular town meetings, so we can share what we know.  Though, I guess the settlement is starting to get bigger, maybe we should look at other ways to share our information.  Thoughts for another time.   Takes a sip from a glass of water.   So, I suppose we should put together a group to go investigate, and possibly speak with Nolax.  Unless anyone has a better idea?
Sounds like a plan, councilman. The question is, who would we send? I can translate for whoever it is, but i myself am not particularly good with words.
Mayhap we be better off sending a representative of our local government?  While I be new here, I come with The Master of the First Vault's blessing and therefore I volunteer to parlay with this party. Dorryn stands, stroking his beard and polishing a dull spot on his armor.
"I speak goblin and are... fairly good with words. At the very least I could help translate, but if you ask me I wouldn't trust this. I feel this could be a trap of some sort." After stating this Zordlon goes back to doing what he does best. Watching and listening and otherwise not being extremely helpful.
Viggo is surprised by Zordlon volunteering but seems intrigued after some thought.

OOC - anyone who is located at the outpost is welcome to participate in character in the AT threads. It is up to you guys the direction this heads.
So it sounds like Zordlon and our new friend Dorryn wish to go, I sadly will be preoccupied and unable to render more than basic assistance here in town. You may be able to gain the assistance of SCOURGE and her companion, but who knows how that will go. Neither have any ways with words. Jared looks down at his papers for a moment and then chuckles, Of course if we think this Nolax is a goblin, you could always take Golburg with you, i'm sure that will go swimmingly. He chuckles again and then stops after looking around the room. Oh, most of you probably don't know golburg, he is the goblin that we captured quite some time ago. He has been helping artisans around the town with basic things, mostly rat-catching.  I'm not sure he would be of much help, but he might know something of this Nolax...
How trustworthy do this goblin be?  It may be that we need it to translate the foul tongue of this Nolax.   Dorryn grimaces.   I must needs overcome my natural distaste for the beast, if so.  The God of Walls and Ditches teaches that all can benefit from civilization...
The creature is actually quite well behaved if your a little understanding. Just make sure his handler is nearby and he shouldn't be a problem. Even if the handler becomes distracted, hes a relatively good listener. He HAS been among us for a few months now.
