Arena Test 1

THE ARENA The crowd gathered to witness the spectacle outside of town.  The arena was only slightly filled .. Actually only one section.  Perhaps the tickets were too expensive .. Whatever the reason .. the battle was about to begin. In the Arena, 4 large ogre like creatures and 2 huge giant-like figures smashed their chests and waited for the gates to open.  Once they did, the gladiators would come pouring out into the battlefield to test their metal against these fiends.   For Test 1, you have no modifications and should attempt to destroy the opponents as quickly and efficiently as possible You should ONLY post when it is your turn in initiative (we are using the initiative tracker for this one and we may need to be patient) We are going to begin with the top of the initiative Others will know you have taken your turn because you have posted here DO NOT FORGET TO POST when it is your turn. Post may include a role play section but I also need a line at the bottom that tells what you did on your turn with the action and the damage done.  Place this data line in bold black.  Saying you hit or miss is sufficient but i do need the damage amount.  Since we are attempting posting in initiative we may not have a need for marking tokens and completing special actions but if we see the need arises we will make adjustments.  For buffs and other effects that you use colors or symbols for, please fill out the color codes & symbols handout found in the testing journal area. I will be taking the role of GM so I will advance the tracker , move things that delay or ready actions etc.  That would normally be the GM job so do not mess with the initiative tracker please.  It is still the players job to adjust the hitpoints on the creature (for now)  If it is your turn you take it even if the tracker does not say so. Posting Time - You post when it is your turn.  If you ready an action you will be moved when your readied action goes off to the point before the creature that triggered it.  If you fail to post as a player in a reasonable amount of time (12 hours) you will auto delay.  If you are not going to do anything on your turn you should post that you delay so the next can go.  If the GM has not posted you must wait for them to do so because they will not go on delay like a player will. Example Post Ogre jumps up and down raising his club and smashing it down on the gladiator, cracking his skull in half.   ROLE PLAY I WILL NOT NECESSARILY READ AND IS FOR FUN Move to gladiator, hit gladiator for 25 damage killing it. (Make Bold) BOLD INFORMATION I NEED TO TRACK THAT I WILL READ AND WILL DETERMINE WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS

ROUND 1 Looks like Jhoren will start things off for us.  Let us begin!
JOHREN'S TURN Jhoren await's his companions entrance to the arena, not wanting to get surrounded by the brutes. Jhoren goes on delay
FERAK'S TURN  Ferak walks out beside his companion, Thark, his shield up, and his javelin ready. Ferak moves and takes total defense (+4 AC)
As Thark steps into the arena he drinks a potion and tosses the vial to the side, as he strides towards the middle of the arena he grows larger. He roars before the assembled crowd Thark is Here, come meet your Doom!!
TS aims at her target, double tap. Both shots bounce off Felshawn's cover.
Ontogenes casts Bless as he steps out into the arena and draws his great sword.

Luthor and Bruthal move towards the opponents slowly.  They raise their arms in the air displaying their great claws.  They play to the crowd making a show of themselves as they move forward slowly.  They prepare themselves for an attack.  The ogres raise their javelins as if ready to strike out with them at the correct opportunity using the walls to provide some amount of cover from ranged attacks as they do. Luthor and Bruthal Move and Total Defence - Marked shield for total defense Ogres Position to Ready Javelin Strikes should opponents come within range (30 feet) - marked red for readied action.

Jhoren comes up behind his companions, dropping a potion bottle as he approaches.
FERAK'S TURN Ferak waits to see what the combat will bring to him. Ferak goes on delay
Thark Yells Die Puny creatures as he charges at Felshawn his body changes, he grows claws, his tusks get larger and a horn grows out of his forehead which he uses to gore the creature before him. /OOC: 21 attack for 22 damage

As Thark approaches, the ogres raise their lances and attempt to throw them, but being so terrified at the creature approaching them throw their javelins so hard they go flying wildly past Thark and into the crowd.  One Javelin violently strikes a patron in the crowd who was leaning into the arena to get a better view; piercing his eye and sending him collapsing into the arena floor below.   Attacks - Rolled 2 Natural 1's

Ontogenes closes the distance between himself and the enemy, casting Guidance as he goes.  The Lifelink on Thark triggers, healing Thark for 5 and harming Ontogenes.
The ogres and Trolls move into position around the combatants eager for blood but unable to land any hits against their heavy armor. Attacks - All Misses.
JOHREN and FERAK go on Delay and are able to return to take a turn whenever they like The ogres surround Thark; both attacks connecting and dealing massive damage.  The orcs roar with ferocity as they tear into their opponent 2 attacks hit (15 and 23) for 15 and 13 damage to Thark
Thark bellows as he rips into Felshawn, landing 2 out of 3 blows on him, as Felshawn starts to fall he spins to the side and rams his horn into Numto OOC: 2 attacks hit Felshawn for 38 damage and 1 hits Numto for 19
TS steps up and double taps. One shot just missing and the other finding it's home. OOC: 16 damage on first shot, second missing by 1 (counted bless and the bonus from being small)
Ontogenes circles around to avoid being trapped, but triggers an AOO from Barko.  He brings hid Greatsword down in a 2 handed slash, but misses the big dummy. //ooc waiting on AOO for Swift action Lay on Hands for 6 IF Barko connects

The trolls and ogres attack, tearing into their opponents.  Although Ontogenes is well armored a couple of attacks get through.  His lay on hands healing him for some minor wounds as he is surrounded by the great monstrous giants.  Thark takes significant damage as the Trolls and ogres continue to tear into him, Bruthal calling over another ogre to assist in finishing off the green beast.   Attacks on Ontogenes:  28 from Luthor and 25 from Frink for 18 damage Attacks on Thark - 17, 16 from Bruthal missing his opportunity for rend for 32 damage, Ogre scores 19 for 8 damage
Two people on delay can go now or the turn will be missed.  I will give you 12 hours from 8am sat.
Ferak and Jhoren go on delay and are welcome to take their turns at any time.
Numto brings down his weapon mightily upon Thark bringing him to the brink of death (-8 hp) Attacks - Numto hits thark 22 for 12 damage

Jhoren snaps out of his distracted state, quickly looking away from the cheering crowd. He searches across the battlefield, deciding the situation in the south is more dire than the north, he and his bull charge! Impaling Barko with a devastating strike, his mount slammed into the injured numto ending him as well. OOC: crit barko for 81 damage, snooter hits numto for 16, enough to finish him off.
