"More intrigue, exactly what we needed" I had said to Syvil, and it seems this exactly what we are going to get. As if it was not enough to have to handle spoiled brats in the audience that have no knowledge or respect of the arts, now, one way or the other, it will be that we all will become tools in the big game of others. I know just to well the consequences of not being the adequate tool or trying to be not a tool for somebody. Where could I run to from here? From this forsaken place, cynically called Haven. All of us here are chased, either by someone or just away. One must be an imbecile to come here on one's own volition. Or a spoiled brat of some sorts. This Lydika and Aurelia... they are going to bring more trouble than anyone can ask for. A Donau in this city... *chuckling to himself* somebody must have screwed up stupefyingly or there is after all very little brain between those pointy elvish ears. And the other one just as mind-boggling... to come here in chase of someone does not speak very well for her chasing skills. Alas... there is one good out of this. They remind me of what I need to learn to do my part in here. If I want to play my role I have to become a better actor. And besides it won't hurt my performing skills... I set out through the town, in search for an acting school, signing myself up for classes under the condition that I do not have to play the fiend in every situation, and certainly not a horned king in any of the old fairytales. I practice with some of the stories I have heard and play the different parts alone, realizing that his can also be a form of entertainment that will perhaps en richen my shows. Of course, when we have a performance I am asked to play the spooky monster. I agree on the condition that at another opportunity I want to be the lover of a romance. We enter the practice stage infront of a meagre audience and the play begins. It is the classical moralist romantic drama. The girl, she looses her heart and wishes for her loved one to love her. But he just won't as he can have other women without being bound to one. In her pain, while she is cooking, in her desperation she calls: "Oh if there is anyone that might help me to win my love, please, I'd give you whatever you want, please, anyone help me, is there anyone?" At these words a wind blows on the stage and I enter, using my skills with loud but soothing voice behind a wall so that my shadow falls upon it. Only my eyes visibly glowing red-black. "Oh my dear, poor girl, there is always someone willing to help you. I can help you and make your love yours. Never shall he ever lay his eyes or hands on someone else. Is it this what you want?". The actress startles with her back to the audience away from the wall, then turns. "Aye, if you can make it. That ever he be mine and no one else's. Will you do that?" "Yes, I can. But I need your help." "I will do anything, tell me what you need." "Only blood is strong enough to create the bond that you seek." A knife appears next to her. The actress turns to the audience, walks to her cooking station and takes some grapes, squeezing them in her hand and pretending to cut herself. The red juice runs out of her hand. She walks towards me and my hand darts through the wall, grabbing her hand and pulling it through the hole. I release her hand and then hold a cup through the hole. "Here, give this to your loved one and he will never be anyone else's." I leave the stage and the play continues, when she gives the drink to her loved one he collapses and dies in front of her, staring at her with open eyes. She cries. Laughing I appear again behind the wall. "Didn't I tell you, he will have only eyes for you, my dear." "What have you done? What have you made me do?" "And now it is time to collect the debt, my dear." And I act as if I am reaching out for her, but stopping short. "What is this? Why can't I take hold of you?" After a few tries and snarls I stop: "I see, you have tricked me. Oh but I am so sure we will meet again." and I start laughing "Your love is looking for you, my dear, soon you will see him again." And with that the piece ends.
