C1 - Titans of the Demon Wastes - 2016 - 3 - 13 -- Season 3 Episode 04

Season 3 Episode 04 - Demons of the Lost Chord (maheva and thunder attending as maheva and gang) 36 hours til Super Thursday begins at 8pm local time. About a month ago, the team heard on the street that a squidship had wrecked in the refugee town sw of Rotting BLade.  Maheva decides that would be a fine sanctuary and mobile temple to Princess Chan.   7 hours by spidership to Rotting Blade from Blood Crescent... team runs across refugee trudging across the snowfields towards the agcombine collective administration facility.  shortly after the cold storm attacked -- attacked -- Lavor Hai, the newly acquired Droaam Cruiser.  Quick maheva madness banishes the pesky spirit and they proceeded to the wrecked squidship. split in half the enraged, downed elemental had gone nearly feral .  investigating the wreckage for salvage opportunities, the tam riled u air spirits in wispy human form with bandage ribbons of spell strings hanging from their limbs like viscioous jhooks. shredding through the Geico Cavemen, three Wind Demons faced off against Gang and Maheva. an elite geico had a magic dagger somehow.. it was causing mad damage to the Wind Demon-- cutting strings and gravely wounding one beast. I'll just take a second to say that rogue and cleric is a -- really -- good fighting unit.  Gang was pelting out 60 damage on hits from sneak attack dice when maheva was also adjacent to an enemy... and since he's an Orc, when he crits he gets to bonus orc damage on top of double snak attack damage.  It is ridiculously strong. And even though Mah has been hanging back as a spell slinger from afar mostly til now, his ac is the best on the team, has touch heals banishment, dispel evil-- and his windfan/airstrike combo deals serious damage.  These two guys together are fecking baddass. The two shred through the 3 demons and Gang picks up the magic knife after the Elite Geico was eviscerated. Yes, the elemental was raging about being grounded.  Maheva Planar Bindinged the elemental so Princess Chan could sooth it's hurt, and maneva rested longg with the elemental as a potential new pet.  Hopefully when Chan's soothings faded the spirit would still recognize Magevaas a friend.   They flew the wounded craft back to the Droaam Fleet where the -7 skill check on the ship could be shord up and repaired in time... 14 days technically.  TO make the squidship a sanctuary, they'll need the supplies to cast the hallow spell.. and the only place that has those materials is the Temple of the Devourer in Rotting Blade-- now the central base of operations for the Bishop of Woe.   The town is abandoned... the spell storm ripped lightning bolt burns across the length of the rotting Blade as well as throughout the town on a northward trajectory across Kashakant and then off the North side of the cliffs. walking through the vacat town, it was quiet, the air was still and creepy quiet. Gang kicked oppen the doors to the temple, which was so thick with incense smoke the back wall of the altar was totally obscured. Maheva pushes a column of wind open fromt he door to the altar-- a bound elder elemental occupied the altar, thick with spell string ribbons. Heading upstairs to find the bishop he was in his study writing.  Ready for the attack, he uncorks two Wid Demons from vials and casts a deensive warfan spell to defend the area. Wind demons advance and the team starts laying down the hurt.   Bishop summons a swarm of dragonflies to tear the team apart as the air demons retaliated.   The Bishop of Woe taunting that this is his sanctuary, and he is unbeatable-- Maheva promptly Banished him from the material world and shredded the guardian Wind Demons. the two took a moment to heal up and braced for the bqanishment to end -- pouncing on the Bishop when he arrived.   Scurrying to get out of the room and back in control, he dove head long off the balcany overseeing the Temple's altar and pews-- "Aradis" was summoned from the altar--- an ancient Elder Elemental picking up the Bishop in a thousand screens of wind, floating aloft in the tight hurrican to the second floor. Sweeping up Maheva he's hurled down below crashing through pews to the altar-- Gang runs the wall to evade Aradis and refresh their footing by Maheva-- and the altar was covered in a black silk tapestry with strands of golden inlay , and undreds of incense sticks -- and sconces all along the altar where Aradis rested. Scooping up the supplies, they threw up a wind wall to prevent the elemental from pursuing, dumping the Bishop on his face while the team flips him off, having gotten what they came here for! Yet again Maheva walks into the Bishop's house and takes his shit.  He is beyond pissed.  But the two stealth out of the city back to Lavor Hai and fly back again to Blood Crescent.   6 hours til Super Thursday and the team is well rested, and feelilng cocky with the successful heist.  Time to make the chimichangas. 1/3 til level 12. stuff acquired:  -1 silver magic dagger with stone hilt and storm gem pommel radiates divine magic - enough incense for 4 rituals of binding in the Book of Servants -1 exotic silk and gold thread Quilt of the Devourer -1 squidship    Thanks for showing, Mah and Thunder-- I love 2 man teams as much as I love 4 man teams.  very different flavor.  
oh yeah-- maheva sealed the two halves of the squidship together with a heightened Mending cantrip. Normally cantrip can only mend 1 cubic foot osf material, so we decided burning a higher level spell slot would allow larger repairs... here's the square foot prgressn by level... mending level 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 area 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 so he burned a 6th level spell slot to fuse the 40 foot circumference of the ship.  this left it with a -7 to navigate, but it was able to limp home.
