Mekton Zeta: How is it?

Has anyone ever played Mekton Zeta. I've always wanted to play a game that deals singularly with anime and mechs.
Do you like cliche and old-school mecha anime? If yes, try it. If no, avoid it.
I had played the older version "Mekton" and I did enjoy it. When they went to the new rules (mekton Zeta) I had several problems with the system. 1) You could get bogged down with the rules (creating custom mechs). They tried to put everything you saw in Anime into one system.
