Map sometimes disappears on tab switch

Hello all, I'm not the only one actually having this problem (another player in the group was having this too) - on the latest versions of OSX and Chrome, the grid and the characters will sometimes just outright vanish when returning from another tab. For the time being they and I are using Safari for it instead, but I'm wondering if there's another solution.
Hi, Awe . I'm sorry to hear that you and another player are having display issues. Could you please carefully work through the first three steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues ? Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions and anti-virus programs. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) It would very much help if you could ask the other player to work through these steps, as well. Thank you!

I've had the same issue also as what Awe described, since exactly when the latest Google Chrome updated.  I'll run the troubleshooting steps also to see if anything helps. The reason I'm posting is I discovered a quick workaround tip to make the map come back.  Hide & Unhide the chat bar.  Try the little button on the top-left edge of the chat, it collapses the chat bar, when I expand the chat bar back suddenly the map-port comes back. Much faster than reloading Roll20 or the whole browser.
Preliminary results: The issue persists on Chrome 49.0.2623.87, OSX 10.11.3. JavaScript is enabled. No antivirus is running. Disabling all extensions had no effect on the issue. Oddly, the issue does not seem to be reproducible in a game no one else is currently in (I'll have to get a console log some other time). The issue did not occur when using Firefox 40.0.2.
I've started seeing the same issue using Chrome 49.0.2623.87 (64-bit) on Mac OS 10.9.5.  My solution was somewhat similar to  Gold - I switch to another application, then back to Chrome.

I and my players have also seen this issue before, sadly though I believe it to be an issue with Chrome and not something we can fix on our end. Refreshing the page usually fixes it for us, but Gold's suggestion seems like it might be faster than refreshing, if that's an issue.
