Peeking at future draws in a deck

I'm designing a new roleplaying game, and one of the 'powers' that a player can have is the ability to 'look ahead' in the deck by some variable amount of cards. At first I thought I could just put a card back on top of the deck, but apparently that's impossible.  Once a card is in a hand, it cannot be returned to the deck, right? So how can I allow a player to look ahead in their own personal deck, WITHOUT putting cards in their hand?

At this time you cannot. However, you may be able to mimic it by dealing cards face down to the table in it's own deck and then showing the player that card. After they look at the card they put it back face down.  - Gauss

Crap.  That doesn't cooperate very well with my desire for people to play cards from their hands face-up. (and honestly, play one card, flip it - then play another, flip it - is a bit too much like molasses going uphill in January). Also is there any way to discard a card directly from the hand?  I can't find anything other than the route of "play to table, right click, delete" for each card, which gets unwieldy when having a hand of ten or so cards... Could the API help with this?

Too bad.  I hope there's plans to include such functionality in the future
I think I have a work around... Enable DL and make a box in the corner large enough to accommodate x number of cards. Enable DL in the box who whoever has it. Then when they've seen, flip them over and move them onto the table? And add 1 token in the center of the map that sheds light 9999 feet that all players see. Messy, but the best fix I can think of.
