http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=755244 She is the daughter of Percival and Morgan Emrys, devoted chemist and engineer in their own rights. As a child, Mordren’s parents would bring her with them to the academy at which they taught and researched at, exposing her at a young age to wondrous and unthinkable new inventions. As she grew up, Mordren would spend much of her time slipping from one lecture hall to the next research lab, often being a troublemaker, but each piece of information feeding her imagination and curiosity even more than the last. Being around creation and inventions as much as she was, Mordren began to imagine possible inventions of her own – a creation the likes of which had never been seen before on Radelf. She imagined a weapon that would allow the user to emulate magic, to hold in their hands thunder itself – a weapon that would take more finesse and skill than the endless studying of wizards, that relied more on known science than finicky magic – seemingly a child’s fever dream, to most. But regardless, her research and work began. Over the course of several years, and even enrolling in the academy – at the behest of both of her parents, to her mild distaste – Mordren began accumulating the skills and knowledge she needed, her finesse and intuition often carrying her efforts. An offhand question here or there about the properties of this or that powder in this or that situation, the malleability and durability of this or that material were often invaluable to her, as was the nearly infinite amount of times she put her powders and creations to the test, only to have them explode in her face. Fortunately for Mordren, she was skilled at picking up extra ingredients and materials… without permission, most of the time, so she would never have a shortage of anything for her concoctions. And as graduation came and went, Mordren was able to finish building her dream – with some help from some swiped wizard’s enchantments among other things, of course – a weapon able to utilize the power from small explosions made from the ignition of a concoction of an explosive powder within itself to propel a small pellet of metal as a projectile fast enough to render armor near useless at close range. It was a weapon that sounded like thunder, and had the damage and volatility to match.
bang bang (I definitely did not spend enough time on this but whatever here is the token that I will probably be mad at myself for later for not spending more time on lmao)
(a short description of Mordren's personality, which is like half finished) Brash and reckless, Mordren’s wild personality is matched only by the volatility of the trusted weapon she carries with her. Her moods are often as fierce and changeable as the winds, never afraid to speak her mind, often rather bluntly. With her sharp intuition, Mordren often expects others to understand what she really means, often not mincing words for fear of being misunderstood. She has the wild imagination and confidence of youth – and the reflexes to keep up, often coming up with daring tactics, and not hesitating to execute them.
i changed my mind mordren doesn't look like that shit up there that don't fit her she looks more like this:
Mordren's experience with orcs: The Cold Coast was raided by orcs relatively often, so she generally views them as a nuisance and a danger when left to their own devices, or when one is left alone with them with no means of protection. She views them as a whole with general distaste due to their raidings, but won't instantly condemn an orc -- that is, she won't shoot on sight, though she is generally wary of them, knowing their destructive capabilities. However wary she is of them, in general, she doesn't think they pose a threat to her individually. Mordren's Goals: Short Term -- Help defeat Apex (so she won't be stuck in the Fey Wilds, Venin said he and Asher had a way out) Mid Term -- N/A (she's not the one to overplan things, more of a 'go where the wind takes you' kind of person) [applicable quote mordren would probably say "If you don't focus on the challenge set before you, you'll be dead before you have time to think about how you'll get to the next one."] Long Term -- Get rid of the Drow harassing the Material Plane Uncommon Item: Gun upgrades! (if not, then sniper goggles, or helm of electric radiance) Plot Ideas: Perhaps something showing the atrocities and catastrophes caused by Carvex and his armies, maybe arriving too late to a battle to help, or finding the remains of a once great city. I think it'd be interesting to have to be in a combat situation where we have to withdraw and leave npc allies or die, or interesting roleplaying for the broken civilizations (I want Mordren to have to pick a side, because this isn't something someone can stay neutral in for very long (she is still because she's from the generally untouched Cold Coast)).
When she was young and first starting work on her invention, Mordren needed (wanted) to get her hands on some of the volatile black powder kept by one of the professors of the Academy, -- one that was not prone to sharing such things with children -- so, after a good deal of convincing, arguing, and pestering, she enlisted the help of one of her friends - also a child of some other Academy staff - Lanvell Kayhart. Her plan, much to Lanvell's displeasure, involved him acting as a distraction while Mordren snuck into the stores and grabbed some of the powder -- Lanvell was convinced that they would be caught, found out, and punished. While the plan started out smoothly, the Professor realized that some of the black powder had been stolen as Mordren and Lanvell were on their way out, and the pair were forced to run (by Mordren, Lanvell suggested they stop, give back the powder, and apologize) -- however, Mordren's knowledge of the small nooks and crannies of the Academy, along with their small size, allowed the pair to escape, much to Mordren's excitement (the "i told you so"s lasted nearly a week). From then on, Mordren was convinced that, if executed correctly, she could do nearly anything of that nature, and didn't fear the consequences, leading to her brash recklessness now.
