Card Deck Discard Pile doesn't always work

Hi, I seem to have a problem with the discard pile - sometimes. Some cards when deleted from the tabletop go to the discard pile like they're supposed to. Other cards seem to go to the bottom of the deck, and I can't figure out why. At first I thought it was something to do with choosing a card from the deck and then deleting it; but I have tried experimenting and recalling cards on the tabletop and then picking them again, and they seem to discard fine, and then other times they won't. At the minute I'm having to keep all discarded cards in my own hand until my players have used the whole deck. I'm thinking that's going to get very unwieldy soon.

Hey, sorry you're having issues with the card decks. I have a few questions for you, if you can answer them it will help me a lot in trying to figure out what's wrong. What are all of the options you have selected for this deck you are having issues with? (infinite, allow choosing specific cards, etc...) Can you give me exact instructions on how to recreate this specific issue?

GM Choose: Show Fronts Discard Pile: Show Fronts The deck is shown to players, but they cannot draw cards and there are 78 cards in the deck, not set to infinite. It's designed to be a deck to be used instead of inspiration in D&D, so it might only see one or two cards being played each session. So I dealt one card to each player at the start, and as they play them on the table when they want to use one, I then right click and select delete. Sometimes the cards seem to go to the discard, sometimes they don't. When they don't, they always seem to go back to the bottom of the list in the choose cards option. If they go to the discard, and I draw them back out, they seem to go back in the discard. I did an experiment and played two cards that won't discard onto the table, and then drew two new ones from the deck and played them too, and the new ones went to the discard, the old ones didn't. I also tried recalling all cards on the table and then shuffling the deck - this didn't help, or fix any problems, and just led to me having to fish through the deck trying to remember which cards I'd already got in the discard pile as they had all been recalled. All of the cards were added to the deck at the same time, and I haven't modified it since. Edit: I have an inkling it might be linked to choosing specific cards. As all four that I currently have in my hand and can't discard where definetely specifically chosen. But then they were dealt to the players as normal, the first time, and still didn't discard properly. So maybe it's not related at all.

Okay, I tried this and was not able to reproduce the issue, which definitely doesn't mean it's not broken, it's just something more specific than I was able to figure out. So, I will try it with your specific deck and see if I can get it to break for me. Which of your games is this happening in? Does it seem to happen only to specific cards, if so which ones? If you could give the exact steps you take to make this happen that would make this a whole lot easier for me too, like: (This is what I tried, as well as several slightly different iterations, and had no luck getting it to break) 1. Shuffle deck 2. Choose card from deck and give to player 3. Player plays from hand to table 4. GM deletes and card goes back in the deck rather than the discard.
The campaign the deck is in is - https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/1076069/d... and it's the Inspiration Deck. I've also tried playing around, and right now, and the only way I managed to replicate the problem was getting one of my players to log on, and play one of the cards that had been dealt to them in a previous session . When I delete the card, it goes to the back of the main deck, not the discard. When he played a card I dealt him this session - it worked correctly. I've returned the card to the player that wouldn't discard, after pulling it back out of the deck. Additionally, the two cards in my hand will not go to the discard, only the back of the main deck. The three in the discard already seem to work fine, have attempted to pull them out, choose them, re play them and they always work fine. Also experimented with a few other cards, and they seemed fine. So right now I can only pin it on cards that had been previously dealt, and then we had stopped playing (normally about a two week gap between games), and they have been played during the next session. Normally the players only get dealt one card at the beginning of a session if they have no cards, and sometimes they earn one mid session. So there's a lot of carry over.
Just to confirm -- are you shuffling or recalling the deck in-between when you deal the card to the player in the previous session and then when you are trying to delete it to move it to the discard pile?
As a rule no. I deal them at the beginning of each session, if they play one, I delete and discard as necessary (or more recently I've just been taking them into my hand to delete of later as I don't want to have to faff mid game and see if it's discarded correctly). The only time I use shuffle and recall is when I've been testing, trying to figure out why they won't discard.

I just wanted to let you know I have not forgotten about this. I have spent hours over the last week trying to reproduce this issue. I've tried everything you've suggested and many other things both in the copy of your game and in new games and have not been able to reproduce this behavior. So, I'm sorry to say, unless you are able to figure out me some solid steps to recreate this issue, preferably in a brand new game, I'm not going to be able to fix it this time.
I tried again this week, I took all cards into my hand that were played during the session (Sunday evening), except one. One I deleted straight away as soon as it had been played, it had definitely been dealt at the beginning of the session - and it went straight to the discard. All the others I kept in my hand, one was dealt out that session, the others were older. Now 3 days later, if I try to delete any of them after playing from my hand, they all go to the back of the deck and not the discard. Then I try it again, and now the one that was dealt on Sunday, will go in the discard pile, this time. As a final experiment, I took all the cards currently in the discard out of the pile, played them to the table, then I shuffled the deck and then tried to delete the cards on the table. Now none of them will discard, and they all go to the back of the deck (what's weird is if you delete a few of them, they all go to the back of the deck, and if you pull one out again - say the one that is second to last in the pile, and try to delete it again, it will go back to second to last. Like it remembers it's place in the deck. Honestly I can totally understand your difficulty in trying to replicate it, as even I can't seem to pin it down to anything in particular. Thank you for all your work trying to figure it out, I know it's a weird minor problem. I mean, maybe it's just some weird glitch in just this game. I guess I'm just going to have keep adding them to my hand (is there a hand limit? I'm now up to 8 cards I can't discard) until we reach the end of the deck and then I can just reshuffle everything. Or maybe create a separate page to store them all on until we finish the deck, and then reshuffle.
