OOC: it has been a bit since my last reply; have a long one! Looking slightly abashed Syvil gets out of the bath. Perhaps I shall at that, might we go have a drink at the Mermaid? Think any story I tell will be better received if taken with something strong. So saying he walks of to change and stands to wait outside in the cold night air where Jana comes flapping down to land on his shoulder. Once you reach the Mermaid he orders up some drinks from Adolfo and leads you to a table in the corner. It seems Syvil has much experience with story telling for he takes on a soft and melodious tone as he tells his tale: I am going to tell you the story of a certain journey, though, and this needs to be clear, I don't really remember all of it. Ahh; thank you Adolfo, I'll be needing this.. Syvil pauses to drink deeply from one of the mugs Adolfo sets before you. It was not too long ago either I think, back where I come from; the Drell Forest, we have this saying - "Take not the road most travelled for most are fools". It is indeed a bit of a silly saying but it means, I was told, that you should walk your own path in life. And so I decided I would, after having trained to be a ranger during which I had a bad experience in the field, it seemed like the world was too small. Too small for such things to happen and that it needed to be bigger. Only way for that to happen was to travel and so I did. I saw many strange and foreign places, and though it was my intention to stay a while in each and to learn some little thing of every place; something drove me onwards and never did I stay more than a night at any town or even city. Well... Except for that week after I got shot by an arrow, but that's not a story for now. Tell me Von; have you ever had a feeling of wanderlust so strong it becomes the very base of your life? I have, and still do. It took me across the many lands, over the sea and even through the mist tides, yet it is not done with me; yet there is somewhere I need to go. Let me finish by giving you another one of our sayings - "Dangerous on the journey is the bandit and beast, hunger and thirst, but worst of all foes is the road and hill; and the lust for what lies beyond". Freedom Von, it is a strange thing; never have I met someone who truly walks free, for ever there is will and want, and the next hill beyond. Happy with the expression on your face as he finishes, Syvil leans back and finishes the last in his mug. Jana, who had been listening intently; ever the strange bird, flaps up and away out the window after correcting a stray strand in Syvil's still damp hair with her beak.
