Please forgive this rather stupid question, can't find out how to save maps that the GM creates,  Any simple way of doing this?

If you mean save and export, there's not I'm sorry to say.
Screenshots or creating the map in a different program are the usual workarounds proposed.

You can duplicate a page however which will create a duplicate of that map in that campaign, if that helps?

Actually Alan, the duplicate page just duplicates the settings and not the actual map.

As a GM, maps are automatically saved as you create them in roll20.  So if you are the GM you can go into roll20 and create your maps pre-session and they will be there ready for you to use whenever.

Very true Garrett. All work inside the game is saved every few seconds so as long as you have no interruption (no red box showing up in the game), your work is automatically saved. Now if you are wanting to copy your map over to another game you created then we have a feature called "Transmogrifier" which is a pro subscriber feature and you can do a work around to duplicate your maps (if you are using lots of tiles for detail work) with that feature. You create a second game and use the transmogrifier to copy to the second then back to the original. This would allow you to build a very detail or complex map with tiles then make copies of it without having to rebuild the map each time.
