Any who visit Cain over a few days notices that he is extremely busy getting things ready and shipments of these po-tat-toes are coming into the lodge and there is a large amount of goats walking around there as well. He contacts some farmers and them teach how to plant these items in gardens around haven too who ever is in the line. He puts a post onto the companies job boards: To any kind hearted adventurers who would give some of their time to help the needy, I am Cain Immortui and I am putting together a feast for the poor since their bellies have been lacking lately and have spent 100g preparing a meal for them that will feed about 300 and I ask for any who may wish to donate to the cause be it money or time, both will be appreciated. I will be holding this event in a weeks time at the Lodge of Light and any who wish to show up please do I will be holding this at noon time until we run out of food so please come any time you like. We currently need some who can cook well and some guards to make sure things stay civil any who help will also be fed these new potatoes, I am very interested to see what they taste like any who help with the guard or cooking may also have a taste for free of these new potatoes. Regards, Cain Immortui Cain spends the next week gathering up any gold donated and organizing the event for those who wish to help: On the day of the event there is a stand with a large cooking fire at the entrance of the lodge and any waiting for food are asked to line up around the circle of the lodge so that everything stays organized. Cain stand at the ready at the booth with ladle and cooking pot and a sack of raw potatoes behind him waiting for any cook that may have helped to hand him more to pass out. Any who have known Cain for awhile notices he seems much happier since returning from the last mission. He smiles and waves and laughs to any who come to see him offering words to them as he fills their bowl and marks the wood with a knife so that people do not sneak seconds in without him allowing it. He also hands raw potato pieces and explains that they are for planting. Greetings! This is truly a happy time. The Vale has allowed trade with these po-tat-toes and they are indeed a fairly hearty crop! All you must do is take one of these cut it in half, plant it, then you have two! Its marvelous! Its also a root crop so it does not take much space to plant now you taste this! It is good, and here plant these parts and you will have full potatoes in no time although I am sure the farmers have taught you this already. Have a good day then and please do enjoy the entertainment and revel with the others it is inded a happy day. Donation totals: 866gp Feeds: 2598

Cain; you gain 6d100 gold (roll in the VTT) for your collection and +1 Renown (Haven) for these deeds. Many City Watch volunteer to shepherd the event during their days off and a number of Blue Sashes including Adolfo also attend as crowdcontrol. Aldofo's wife volunteers as cook and since she is also 8 feet tall, has some fairly large soup pots with which to cook up the feast.

Cain gathers up 366 from the donations and tries to extend this for as many days as possible (that totals with my gold to feed 1398) buying and handing out more potatoes and getting enough goats to keep up with the broth. He hires bards to sing and play at the feast accompanied by street performers and asks for a dance floor to be created to keep everyone lively. On the last day he hands out at raffle half of the goats and the rest are slaughtered to make a fine stew with these Po-tat-toes and spends whatever gold is left on skullcracker so everyone may revel together in the feast. At the end of the last night Cain stands at a point where everyone can see him probably a little to tipsy and shouts to the crowd. I hereby declare the beginning of the tradition of the Festival of the Vale! We shall hold it here at the lodge shall be held this week of each year! Cain turns to the farmers that have been helping with the feast and raises a mug. Let us thank these men for aiding us and fixing our starvation and hope we become good neighbors to one another perhaps next year we can have some of our neighbors come visit and join us in revelries. Cain also calls up to the stage anyone who has donated and raises their hand to the crowd so they know who to thank unless they ask otherwise.
Sharleen would most likely show up happy to donate for the people of Haven hopefully having a good sum of the needy getting their bellies full. She would donate a total of 300 gold pieces and offer her services in preparation for the feast.
von would show up and ask if there was anything he could do to give a helping hand and to inquie as to how one cooks a po-ta-to

Syvil, who is not one for crowds has chosen to remain on the fringes of this event. He has been trying to work with the guard to keep any who would exploit the festivities away, or even behind bars.
Cain has asked the bard Marokin to create a song for the feast and this is the mainstay song that is sung at the event, throwing in others so it does not get repetitive. At some moments you can see Cain even doing a jig to it while he hands out food. The Vale and the potatoes The sons of sol they launched a call to every empty belly So I will thing so that you’ll cling onto my song and rally Come tap your toes have one of those those oddly round potatoes The food is free delivery right from the far out vale you might have not heard of this spud just follow my own tail Come tap your toes have one of those those oddly round potatoes that’s how it goes my sis and bros the hunger’s greatest foes in slices slashed or peeled and mashed that’s how you eat potatoes
As cain bustles out of the Lodge of Light organising his planned feast he finds himself visited twice. "Master Cain!" Ezekiel Boone booms enthusiastically and claps the big man across the shoulders. "I see your little jaunt towards the Vale without me went alright! This feast business is a great idea by the way, I'm afraid I ant got a lot of money to help out but me an the chanters have been carefully rationing for the worse. What with the grannaries filling with these pertayta thingies though we can break out our stores to contribute, reckon more an a few would be happy to help out with the cooking as well as the eating. An we probably have a cask or two of cider... " His face clouds at a scene going on over Cain's shoulder, but he smiles back to him and shakes his hand "Come find me later if you want to talk specifics, looks like you're busy..." ----------------------------------------------------- Behind Cain a small procession approaches. Pages throw flower petals at the head of it, creating a beautiful and fragrant carpet down which a young woman Cain would have a hard time not recognising after recent events strides proudly and purposefully, Aurelia Donau. Wearing a glittering chestplate of ceremonial armor bearing the 8-pointed star of her house and holding the crystaline erdari staff. At her side is another woman almost her spitting image though at the same time unmistakably inhuman, a pure blooded elf from the forest of lir wearing an elegant dress befitting highest nobility. Around them scampers a young gnomish woman gawking in pleasure and awe at the surroundings occaisionally flipping out a notebook and scribbling something, sticking her tongue out in concentration before hurring to catch up to the front and take everything in again. Behind them are two huge men, one an exotic featured dark skinned human rivalling cain for height and scowling angrily at everything, another a man with a cracked and weathered face, greying blond hair and signs of orcish ancestry rivals Sharleen for headhight and scowls most angrily at the other man. Household guards flank them and protect the pages, their swords and halberds glittering in the sun and their very real armor also bearing the tabard of an eight pointed star. The procession stops when they meet cain and a herald announces Aurelia to him before retreating back. "Ser Immortui!" Aurelia nods to the man "It's good to see you. When I heard about this little event I thought it a rather excellent initiative so I have come to give it the full backing of House Donau." She smiles and clicks her fingers. Another page brings out a small chest and presents it to the Knight of Sol, opening the top to show cain the glitter of coins, one hundred of them. "I know it's not the largest of sums but a great deal of our wealth here is currently tied up in the financing the purchase of all these potatoes from the Vale, however I did bring something or rather I should say someone, very special." Gesturing behind her to the Sharleen sized Half-Orc who nods respectfully to Cain. "Master Remsey there is one of the most extraordinary chefs to grace our world and would delighted to bring his talents and knowledge to bear on the preparation and serving of these potatoes, we'll bring a shipment of fish and herbs and such along too I expect. Also if you are looking for an entertainer for the festivities I believe my chronicler here, Madame Thistlebrick would be delighted to help in that regard." The gnomish woman nods and shake's hands with Cain.

Cain gives a big smile to Boon Glad I could have helped I have been worried about the city with how many have been coming to me complaining about their stomach and malnutrition which sadly is something that my healing magic nor advice can do anything for. I appreciate any help given friend I was planning on this to just be a simple food line and it has exploded into festivities. I am just happy to see so many smiling faces instead of the usual grimace.  --------------------------------------- Cain gives a knightly bow back to the lady. Ah! Madame Aurelia, thank you, anything we can muster up to help is great and having your guard around will make shady people less inclined to do something stupid to spoil the fun, please feel free to join in with the drink and dance if you wish. The chef though is probably what we needed the most currently, the only reliable one we have right now is Adolpho's wife and she is run ragged by now, please hurry to her Master Remsey. Cain gives the orc a nod. And as for entertainment all the bards are gasping for air for singing days in a row although I am sure their pockets are not complaining, feel free to join in if you wish Madame Thistlebrick.
