While Convalescing

Kelyn wants to use some of her portion of the party treasure to set up a fund to take care of the surviving family members of the townspeople who died at the wedding, especially the children. She will pay for the repair of the burned buildings. She will meet with the Drow, Goblins and the surviving Welsh Guards to offer her deepest condolences and to offer remediation to their families. As best as she can while convalescing, she will attempt to be a gracious hostess to her new in-laws and other guests, however she is easily distracted to become lost in thought. She will often be found, sitting alone, in the center of the grove, staring off into the distance.
BTW, Vlad was a special case for a few reasons, #1 he was slain by a massive critical hit by a frost giant. #2 He was raised by Dr. Cypher, which required a dispensation from his deity, and Vlad to convert to Lhassanism #3 He is an NPC and I wanyed to move him from one campaign to another, while not making him a major force in the game until the party had risen past him in level. I do feel that a day of convalescing for each HP below zero.
After convalescing for 13 days, she'll be fine physically.  However, I don't think she's going to as fine mentally.
I have to look at the roll again, did you know that a Ring of Protection adds it's plus to saving throws? Off hand what ie the plus of your ring and what was your roll?
She had a ring of protect +6 on.  I thought it only affected AC but I could be wrong.   This is my thoughts regarding her mental state:   1.  On what what suppose to be one of the happiest days of her life, 9 villagers -- who she is sworn to protect -- and 7 Welsh guards were killed, senselessly.  They were gathered together to witness her wedding so they were there because of her.  If it had been any other time, maybe not so many or none would have died. 2.   During the battle with the dragon she died, along with 5 Drow and 4 goblins.  Yet only she was brought back from the dead.  Everyone else who died was left dead.  Now granted the Drow probably couldn't have been raised.  I also realize that the decision to raise her was PC vs NPC but take away the game mechanics, she was raised when the others were not.  I think she'd have something similar to survivors guilt going on here.  Because she is sworn to protect the villagers and some of them died because of her, she feels she needs to take care of any members of the families that were left behind - widows, widowers, orphans, etc.   The same with the Welsh guards and to a slightly lesser extent the goblins and drow.  They died because of her so she feels she need to make amends.   So in real life terms, I think she would be a bit fragile mentally and emotionally for awhile. There's got to some PTSD..  I agree that she could be physically healed after 13 or so days of rest -- that makes sense.  But as someone who in real life deals with mental/emotional issues, I don't think she's going to be able to shrug this off in a few days.    I think she's been traumatized and this experience is going to change her.  I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to play this, I'm still working that out.
As someone who suffers from PTSD in real life I can understand that Keyln would be traumatized and have survivor's guilt and that she wouldn't be able to shrug it off in a couple of weeks. If you want to go so far as to say she has full blown PTSD then those issues would probably take years to deal with if they weren't permanent. If you need real life source material to role play that by all means ask me questions and I'll answer them as best as I can, but be warned the symptoms of PTSD are very severe and are triggered by adrenalin surges among other things so PTSD might cripple Kelyn as a PC. Anyway that's just my 2 copper pieces I'll take them off my character sheet next game.
Trust me, I have my own traumas that I deal and dealt with. I also realize that the symptoms may not surface for a while.   For now, I think she's going to pull away from the group a bit.  Right now she's communing with her grove, nature and Syllavus to help with the healing process.
it probably makes sense that volkraks not too impressed with himself either
