The party is eager to find a place to rest, but Malak insists that they must first find Cessily Mantiel, the devout paladin of Sarenrae whose ghost they encountered earlier. Arthas leads the heroes through a series of cell blocks until they finally stumble across the shade's cell. Malak presents Dawnflower’s Kiss to her. "Thank you, brave heroes," the ghost whispers. "Now I can rest,." Lady Mantiel touches the scimitar and, in a flash of light, Dawnflower’s Kiss is returned to its original form as a holy weapon. Simultaneously, the ghost's spirit enters the staff of healing which Elaryan carries, transforming it into a staff of life. The heroes enter the cell, and Malak casts an illusion over them so that the cell appears empty. They rest for eight hours, then resume their progress toward the warden's chambers. However, Ylleshka has been watching them and decides to grab the initiative. As the adventurers are walking down a twisting passageway, the two-headed marilith appears with a pair of demodand guards and attacks! She appears quite fierce, but Malak manages to decapitate both heads simultaneously with a single blow from Ashbringer . Defeating the demodands takes a few minutes more, but the heroes are eventually successful. The companions search Ylleshka's body, but they find no keys of the groaning gate. They decide that the warden must have left them in her chambers, so they continue in that direction. Eventually, they arrive at their destination. An immense central chamber is accessed by a flight of stairs that crosses a bubbling pool of lava. A huge throne is the focal point of the room, its contours seemingly formed for a creature more akin to a giant snake than one with legs. Large doors lead to several adjacent rooms. In the first adjacent room, Loki discovers what appears to be a large, locked chest. As the halfling is examining its lock, the chest lurches into motion.... for it is a mythic mimic! The mimic swallows Loki whole, then shambles forth to do battle with the rest of the party. The mimic is not a very powerful foe, but its adamantium hide makes it difficult to injure. By the time the heroes have dispatched it, Loki has been partially digested. The brave halfling is dead, and the party does not have enough diamond dust for raise dead. Nor uses his fungal pod to prepare a new body for Loki. Ten minutes later, the assassin is restored-- but in the form of a small mushroom body which combines the feature of plant and gnome. The party resumes their search. In the second room, they discover Ylleshka's nest. Hidden in the nest are some valuable diamonds, and the keys that they have been looking for! Now only one key remains to be found. Everyone who played gains 50,000 XP. Defeating Ylleshka is a mythic trial.
