The game were fine under first edition rules, the second edition broke several things which an spontaneous game would bring. It basically forces the st to railroad the game. But if you are willing to play VtR 1st ed, I count me in. well then sure I mean it's a pen and paper game so things can always be switched up. I mainly thought second edition because it was the most current. are there any major differences between 1st and 2nd I should be aware of? I'm more familiar with masquerade than I am with requiem so I don't really know what predators taint is. 2nd edition vampires are rock stars compared to 1st edition. Stronger, faster, deadlier and meatier. Conditions were introduced, as well as the xp system was changed up you earn beats via roleplay and fullfilling aspirations and by just showing up you get 1 beat. (things got cheaper to accommodate the 5 beats 1xp thing) Social combat was introduced ( a thing in all 2e games now) as well as mask and dirge (tools to help you roleplay) I don't know why he dislikes 2nd Edition some of the fluff got messed up but you can always play 1st edition fluff 2nd edition rules (much better in my opinion.) That's just the general things that come to mind on what changed from 1st to 2nd if you have no experince with either 2nd is deff where you want to start really no reason not to. (1st and 2nd edition stuff is more less 99% compatiable with guides to help you convert stuff)
