I just watched a live-stream of the game and it reminded me of
playing the game about 2 years ago. Even though I only played once I
really enjoyed it and all of a sudden I found myself actually
thinking about how I could get it to work through roll20/Skype. I'll
have to read up on the rules abit first though. So for my first time
ever gm'ing anything I came up with a basic system of play based on
the stream I watched and a couple of my own thoughts.
The game is looking to be about 15 players in Skype with 3 Mafia,
1 cop and 1 medic. (can skype do calls that large, not sure) (this is the game btw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_%28party_game%29
)

1. Make a conference call for all players in skype. When it's day,
the players can talk amongst themselves in the large conference call.
The time limit for day would be 10 minutes.
Once a player wants to, they can make a "formal vote" to
kill another player. When this happens the defending player gets to
state there case against death and can call witnesses (people who
they think will back them up). Afterwords the prosecution can do the
same (case for death/witnesses). Then a vote is made. Players type
yes or no into Skype chat, the results counted and death/life handed
out. Death would be inviting the player to either just leave or keep
on the call with their mic off.
After the time limit/vote, players to sleep.
2. In roll 20, I make 3 separate campaigns for the roles (Mafia,
cop and medic). I ask all players in Skype to mute their mics and
un-mute their roll 20 mics/sounds if they are in a role campaign.
They do a similar vote and I talk to them if need be. Then they
re-mute roll 20 in options and I take care of the various
behind-the-scenes work (namely who dies/gets saved etc).
3. Everyone in Skype un-mutes their mics and we begin again.

So that’s how my current thoughts for running it online looks.
My main questions are, can I improve this system and any hints for
running this game especially when it comes to this game online. Also
any tips for general gm'ing are always welcome.
