Exporting a map created ?

I'm looking to export the map that I've created to my desktop.  The image is a large map that I've spent many hours creating.  I would like to keep it and download it to my desktop as png or suitable format.  How can I do this ?

Wrong forum for this post and no... not without taking a lot of screenshots and stitching them together in gimp or photoshop.
