Gorefest Dungeon April 24th Recap

Joining us this session was: Luke C. as Kritty the Swashbuckler Catfolk at 287 Naryar as Brother Sarman the Martial Artist between 265-270 Mark W . as Kegorach the Wizard at 258 points. And Archie as a Lochnar Sadly Stripe could not be with us this week to join in as Rashi. First things first, after the wonderful, and slightly narcissistic recap recounting his glory in battle from Luke, we began the game with the field of floating soul orbs before them. With everyone quietly looking at each other with caution, they were slowly absorbed, bringing the groups back to full HP and FP with Brother Sarman gaining a small additional benefit from one of the hobgoblins: a pair of Fangs that would last him until the end of next session. A cautious peace was struck between the two sides as the small rival party wished to only leave the dungeon with their reward from the second corridor. Not wishing to visit the third corridor for fear that not all of them might make it back to the hub. But they weren’t completely mean to the group, instead warning them about the levers, even giving the group some help to make it to the Boss room where they encountered a man covered with what looked like black scales, his only protection a loincloth to maintain some semblance of privacy. It was a great room, a large sparring space to the south while a giant stone statue of a demon decorated the circular room to the north, two sets of iron gridding with an opening between them was the only thing that separated the two spaces. Not even paying him any mind, the group wandered into the room with Kritty strutting around as though he owned the place. Perhaps it was for the best that Rashi had not joined them as every step of this Half-Demon, Spur, desecrated the ground he walked on, and he had walked over every square inch of his lair. There was nothing sacred in there and Spur proved it with his opening move, activating his Dark Disciple blessing and causing terror to those before him. Kritty and Kegorach showed the mental fortitude to resist the assault of Terror while Sarman wasn’t so lucky, it ended up being a fight that would scar him mentally for the future. But this was only the opening move and Kritty made sure that he paid for it with Sarman’s help. A quick shout to stun the Half-Demon and they were off, attempting to cripple the leg while Kegorach prepared his bow after Spur broke from his stun. The fight became more harried as control was gradually wrest from the party. The beast was too fast, attacking at least six times a second whenever they failed to stun him, though through a clever move on the part of the wizard struck blind the Boss, keeping him in darkness. But not even that dissuaded Spur from continuing his attack. Keeping his ears open for any sound of movement to reach him, allowing him to defend himself and search for the enemy. It wasn’t long before Kritty managed to actually cripple the leg and then move onto the neck. What that group wasn’t aware of is how skilled Spur was, a formidable martial artist in his own right and even on the ground he wasn’t a pushover. Utilizing his tail to his benefit, he would parry blows from Kritty, attempt to dodge those that he couldn’t and still kept fighting despite the control that both Kegorach and Sarman exerted over him. The former in the form of spells like Fumble and Wither Limb and the latter in the form of grappling, throwing, and just generally screaming his battle cry like it was a mantra that would save them. And yet they still felt the sting of Spur’s tail multiple times. Forcing Kritty to retreat beyond the reach of the flexible, flail-like tail that hunted him. A critical strike forcing the Catfolk to drop his weapons. It was only through the timely intervention of Kegorach managing to fire off a shot at the tail with Wither Limb attached to the arrow that finally turned the battle around. The last blow came from Kritty, shattering the skull of the Dark Disciple and slashing the neck open. The beast lay dead before them and they could only stand and watch as a soul orb rose from the defeated Boss before them. A quick game of rock, paper, sword ensued with Sarman winning the right to absorb the soul of this boss and gaining, to his benefit, some slightly scaly hands making them as hard as iron. It didn’t take them long afterwards to take the tokens from the throne and finding the secret lever that allowed them back into the hub room where they decided to rest up and perhaps plan for the final corridor. CP Awards: •1CP to all that showed up to the table. •2CP for killing a  boss . •-1 CP to Brother Sarman as he gained a quirk, Glimpses of Clarity (Half-Demon Fight). Triggering on any subsequent fight with any demonic looking opponent. •+1 CP to Brother Sarman, permanently gaining Iron Hands from the Boss’s soul orb. Loot: •$750 each for turning in the tokens

That was a high quality recap ! Thanks for the read.
Thank you. At some point just going over every action in combat is a bit time consuming for getting a recap out and it doesn't always make fun reading. Round 2. Brother Sarman joined metal band, screaming at Spur. Kritty steps forwards and hacks at leg, missing a few times. Spur strikes out with tail and claws. Hacking at Kritty and then Sarman. Naryar goes Holy Shit upon learning that Spur has both ATR1 and EA1. So on and so forth. The dry version is what I've got in my little notepad.
See, if I were playing a Trickster PC, I woulc certainly purchase a demon mask and spook Sarman in the middle of the night. Great session! Err... sorry if I was a little loopy towards the end, I was getting tired but I didn't want to ditch you guys, and I ran out of tea about half way there.
