Hi thank you for checking this post out I am a relatively experienced DM but still new to d20 (3 sessions in). What started as a 1 hit adventure has turned into a campaigne and we are looking at recruiting 1 more player. The story began.... There are many debates about how the Inn called The Last Dragon, at Scorchmere came to be. The two most popular theories are that either a fireball spell went awry or Goblin campfire got out of control. Whatever the start of the story, it ends with a large clearing being burnt into the forest with a sole surviving oak at its centre. This road mark, on the Wilderness Road, soon became a campsite, which gradually turned into a rudimentary shelter, which gradually evolved into an inn which spawned a small village around it. For many centuries, The Last Dragon has been an oasis for weary travellers pushing east into the lands beyond. Though not many have been to The Dragon, many have heard tales of it from someone who has sheltered a night there – a place of warmth, security, and surprising luxury in the midst of untamed wilderness. The village of Scorchmere is typical for this part of the realm. Livelihoods are made from farming and livestock with a few merchants and the Inn catering for the few travellers along the Wilderness Road. From here our band of adventures have slain a mighty beast only to find out it was not the beast that they wanted (or really that mighty), released a trapped spirit, recovered a wand for said spirit, only to find its power had been drained, fought a few goblins and are about to set off on an expedition to find a way of "re-charging" the wand. In our band of brave warriors are Grimbor the Dwarven Cleric Mordetis a Tiefling Warlock Lumnas the Elven Ranger Nuvnos the a High elf Wizard Scurry a Human Rogue Though we are from all over the world please be aware we play in English. If you enjoy a fun, relaxed game with a good mix of role-play and combat and can commit to play every Thursday 7pm-10.30pm ish (GMT+1) then please apply including your character name, class and a bit of background (feel free to keep a few secrets for later in the game). If you are successful I will PM with an invite and we will then discuss your character in more depth and how I /we can integrate them into the game. You will be starting at level 2 Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them Dan
Sorry forgot to say we use the 27 point buy system for Character creation

Hi my Name is Steffen, I have a few weeks of experience here on roll20 and with D&D 5e in General, but already played around 10 sessions as a player with a few different characters. I am Dming myself as well on here, at the moment running LmoP for a group of 6 players. I am a student from Germany, 22 years old and can speak fluent english. I would like to play a Half-Elfen Fighter by the name of Mehenar, who is a mercenary. The Backstory i have written for him: Born as a child to the daughter of a noble and a travelling elfen father, i did never meet my father in person. All i have left of him is an old knife he left for me. I was born in secret, an half-elf to a human nobles daughter my mother was made to keep me secret and was locked away by her father, as his shame was too big, yet he could not bear to have his own grandchild killed. I was raised in secret and learned to be an outsider. I never fit in anywhere and was treated very badly by all around me. This made me vengeful in my heart, as all i wanted was to be a part of something. One day, shortly after my 11th birthday there was fire. I awoke in the middle of the night, the room illuminated from the outside in a threatening orange glow of burning fire. I Looked out of the window and could see the palace of my grandfather burning, with a horde of armed men shouting loudly and ramming at the door. They quickly stormed the complex as i awoke my mother and we tried to flee, but to no avail. On the corridor out we were stopped by a towering barbarian warrior. A menacing site i wont ever forget. He grasped his weapon and with one swift blow he cut my mothers head clean off. I was horrified. I cried and closed my eyes waiting for my inevitable death. They were not here to make prisoners... But suddenly i heard a clenched cry of surprise. As i opened my eyes i saw a huge dragonborn standing behind our assaulter with his huge sword sticking out of the barbarians chest. He rushed before me and took care of two more attackers, telling me to stay behind. Later he returned to me, looking me up and down, just telling me: "There is noone left. Come with me young elf. You can join me and my group." And so i ended up in Balosar's Company of men. A Mercenary company where i learned to be proficient in all types of weaponry and the art of war. He became my father and all i had left, and i soon took a Dragonborn name as well in his honor. I was finally at home, with no one judging me here and i finally felt like a part of something. I have some more written, and can of course extend and finalize an even more detailed Backstory including specific names, locations etc if you pick my character to join the campaign, also seeing how it all fits in your campaign world. I am a good Roleplayer, and like to describe my character's actions, especially for spellcasting. I always strive for as much immersion as possible, be it as player or DM, and think i can bring some really nice Roleplay into the group. I hope you consider my character for the campaign, and i can join you guys :) greetings, zero

Hi, I would love to apply, too. My Name is Marcus, I'm born in 1986, and have been playing tabletop and live rpgs for the better part of 14 years (LOTS of Vampire Masquerade and Requiem, started with The Dark Eye, some D&D 3.5). As I have played mostly Vampire LARP, and in consequence have done and seen a lot of wonderfully angsty and tragic stuff, I tend to go for characters with a twist to their behaviour, and I'm a big fan of the "Write a concept and a starting point, and PLAY your character's story" approach. Not a big fan of convoluted and complex backstories, since the things you can do in-game tend to be MUCH more interesting than any cool background you write beforehand. A particular concept that I would love to be able to play is the fighter Razia Sultana. She's basically a paladin of vengeance without divine powers, and earns her keep as a wandering monster slayer for hire. Bloodthirsty and battle-hungry, she seems like a pretty typical and normal warrior type. The twist is, she is essentially doing the "Killing monsters" schtick for two reasons: First, to quell her violent urges, and use them for the (more or less) good of society. Think a bit like Dexter (never seen the series, just like the concept). And two, to make the world a better place for her kid. She left him at the door step of a monastery as a baby, and even though he doesn't know who she is, the thought of fighting to make the world a better place for him is ultimately what keeps her going.
