Give the "xx is typing..." its own box

Both me and many players and GM I have played with thinks it is really frustrating, and confusing, that when ever someone is typing in the chat their names comes up "xx is typing...". The frustration comes of that when that happens the whole text log gets pushed up at least two rows. So if you were in the middle of reading a previous post it gets very annoying and can be confusing if the text suddenly jumps up, and then most often back down every few second. Especially if there are many players of if the conversation is lively it gets impossible to read when people are writing. It is of course good know that someone is typing so that you know that the players are active, so it is a must keep feature. But it needs a bit attention. Best solution would be to give this feature its own set space above the input box so that the chat log do not get affected by it, or solve it another way as long as the text do not jump around when the feature gets activated.
I definitely agree. Alternatively, have a typing indicator on the icons at the bottom of the screen.I would consider this a positive change, to fix a breaking bug with the current implementation.
+1  in addition to which, the ability turn off  "typing notifications" and "hide emotes" would help keep the chat flowing for the GM side more smoothly, as Emotes (which can indicate actions that other players miss, besides just whispering the GM) and the typing messages during a critical time (when DM is rolling for loot) becomes a giant headache as the rolls get pushed off
