The party seeks shelter in the ruins of Keeper Marshan's home. During the night, Eovan contracts a filth disease, and falls into a feverish coma; the party cannot rouse him, so they leave him sprawled in the debris. Meanwhile, Malak has escaped captivity, and makes his way through the Sunless Grove and up into daylight, where he stumbles upon his companions. A tearful reunion ensues. The heroes decide to turn Keeper Myre over to the authorities, then to seek out Keeper Hyve in the abandoned Church of Aroden. the third link was close so close but then gone - we destroyed its lair yet it lives - but wait - wait - the link is close once more - surrounded by flesh tender flesh that falls away so cleanly - and now the third link is severed - and two remain - and wait - wait - is that the fourth link we feeeel? - so close The party defeats Keeper Hyve and return to the City Watch checkpoint, only to find it in disarray. Something large and invisible has attacked while the party was at the Church, killing six soldiers, a dozen citizens, and a prisoner that the Watch was holding. Whatever it was descended upon the checkpoint in a furious blur of razor-sharp action, lopping off heads and limbs at a terrible pace, then left as soon as the prisoner was dead. Everyone who plays gains 1500 XP, except for Malak, who gains 2000
