Checking Successes Against A Total

I've been trawling the wiki and the forums, and haven't been able to find what I need, so here it is: Roll20's success/failure system appears to only apply to individual dice, so it checks each and returns a result for each. [[2d6<8]] This code checks each of the d6s rolled to see if they're equal to or below 8 (which inevitably, they are). What I want is for those two d6s to be totalled and that total  to be compared against the <8. Is this possible (preferably without the API)?

[[ [[2d6]]<8]] Never-mind, I didn't read your problem closely enough.  ;-( try this /roll {2d6, 0d0}k1<8 or inline(but you'll have to hover over the result to see the details) [[ {[[2d6]],0}k1<8 ]]
I recommend: /r {1d6 + [[1d6]]}<8 or [[ {1d6 + [[1d6]]}<8 ]] 17.4 Grouped Rolls 17.5 Grouped Roll Modifiers 17.5.2 Target Number / Successes (B,F) - CP

I'm doing something similar to that with a sheet I'm editing. I'm changing a basic sheet button from a 1d100 to [[{1d100+?{Situational Modifier|0}}<@{openlocks}]]
Thank you very much for the help (I ended up using Silvyre's method for clarity when viewing the roll, but Vince's works fine too), it's working exactly as intended now.
