In today’s update, we’ve added some powerful new tools from CrowdIn for our translators. These tools are designed to not only make it easier to translate the site, but to help give context to our translators. In the past, the tools available only displayed a list of random words and sentences with no page context. With the addition of CrowdIn, our translators can now load up any page on the site in “translation mode” and translate the text right on the page. As well as offering this new translation mode, we are excited to announce that these tools are also compatible with community-created Character Sheets. Sheet Authors can now use the Character Sheet i18n tools to design their sheets, making them available for our community of translators. Sheets that are not designed using these new tools will not be translatable until the Sheet Author makes these changes. If you are a Sheet Author and have any questions, please visit this forum post for help. Current translators can expect an email soon with more details on getting started. If you are interested in volunteering to help translate Roll20 please feel free to email <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> .
This is simply amazing! Thank you!

The actual translation tools are for our translators, the "average" user won't actually see them. This will just hopefully make it easier for our translators to translate the site, which in turn will make for a better experience for our non-English users.
Do you accept volunteers?

Nestor, yes, all of our translators are volunteers and we can always use more. Especially with sheets being updated to be translated there's going to be a lot more work to do. You can apply by emailing <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> and letting them know what language(s) you'd like to translate.

Will sheets show a translation if The sheet has been translated into a specific language The end-user has changed their default language in roll20 or browser settings to that language...? Just a little curious how the process will work. Thanks

Got it here. &nbsp; Thanks Phil B. said: Vince, once you upload your English translation file to the git repo it will then be uploaded to Crowdin, our translation service. Once it's there, it will be up to the translators to translate it into their own language. As they do that, it probably won't be all at once, the strings that are translated will show up in the translated language instead of English (the default) depending on what the user has selected as their language in the account settings. If you're seeing the red text, that means the key is missing and needs to be added to the translation JSON. You can find this on the campaign settings page, there is a new tab, Translation, next to where you edit the HTML and CSS now.

Yes, the sheet's language, like the rest of the site, will be chosen by what the user has selected in their account settings. Any strings that haven't been translated yet will default to the base language, English (except the the case of a sheet being written in a different language and being translated to English, then it will default to whatever the original language was).

Awesome! I've been waiting for the new translation tool for a while now. Any ETA on when we're getting that email?

So, great new tool. Very easy to use and works well. Only problem is, a LOT of strings are untranslatable. How can we get around that?

Yes, we only have about 2/3 of the site set up to handle the translation strings right now. If you want to make a list of the pages you find that haven't been set up yet, then email Stephanie, she's going to compile a master list for me and the other devs to eventually go through and finish "translating" the rest of the site.
Hi ~ &nbsp; I found that in the&nbsp;account setting didn't has the language option&nbsp;for Chinese-Traditional, i hope that Roll20 can add it, thanks!
