Cannot move tokens between maps

I have tried the Cntrl-C/Cntrl-V combo after selecting a character (or set of characters) to move them to a new map with no success.  I am on one map, select a character (get all the pop ups) and do Cntrl-C.  I then move to a different page and try Cntrl-V.  nothing happens.  How do I move the player tokens to a new map?

If they players all have character sheets, they are independent of maps.  If you drag the sheet onto the map, it will put an instance of the associated token.  It's not what you're asking for, but . . .

Monica, are you trying to move things between maps in the same campaign or between different campaigns (or the same campaign in two tabs)? You cannot move things between different campaigns.

ON the Map screen (dm side) there is a Red flag thing, move that over to the next map that you wish to play on, go to journal and select each of your Pc's and put them on the map. Hope that helps, if not invite me to your campaign and ill walk ya thru it:)

Thanks, guys. I am moving characters between maps in a single campaign. I was frustrated that moving the player flag didn't move the character tokens along with it.  Putting new instances of the tokens on the new map tended to reset all the edit fields.  I finally figured out, however, that I can group select the tokens I want to move, do a Cntrl-C to copy them, go to the new map, and then _Click on the map_ and Cntrl-V to get them to copy over.

Monica, send me a join link and I will show you an easier way to do that (easier once it is set up).

lol, I don't have the OP's problem, but the thread made me curious, & I was going down looking at interesting looking posts before starting a thread somewhere By sheer coincidence this is exactly what I was looking for ;)

Monica, what probably happened was that the characters got pasted to the page, but are technically pasted to the position they were located at on the previous page. If your new page is smaller than the previous page, they're probably sitting past the boundaries of the current page. When you click on the tabletop, Roll20 will use the new clicked position to paste items/images to.
