Izek Mazel

Edited 1464336380
2nd son Of Myfanwy Halse And Kendle Mazel. Mom was a poor bar girl and dad a philandering senior merchant. Dad has done 2 things for the family, gave me my last name and dumped us on Darrian just before he decided mom was to old and ugly to stay with.          At first glance Izek is just an average spacer, quiet and comfortable in small groups, but on closer scrutiny he seem like hes unhappy with all sized groups bigger than 1 or 2.Once you get to know him well you start to suspect he's actually a bit jumpy and wont give up too much info to any one. Izek Mazel came to fame some 18 years ago when when he was wondering the local sub sector with his cousin Hellio, they stumbled across the wreck of imperial close escort. On board was a "chair" of alien construction. It was on the way back that my cousin had to do a EVA to make a repair on the outer hull of the ship when his suit was "pierced" by a "foreign object" and he was lost to the depths of space.        This launched Izek Mazel into the lime light and resulted in his father finally recognizing him as his son with all the benefits that come with being the son of a system head of a large darrian merchant company. This is when it all started to get a bit much for Izek Mazel, instead of trying to join dads company he signed up with a small in system haulage company and started his carer as a local "milkman".        Recently things have gone south for Izek Mazel, with the success of his 2nd cousin Stina and her "pleasure planet" he has been questioning his lot in life, 38 years of age and all he has is an old blade an even older shot gun and his vac suit. When the Artimus crew first see Izek Mazel, he's walking across the space port carrying his bags and a half happy half pissed off look on his face, the first words they hear are "Hi are you guys hiring"?
Since you've already given us a hand in repairs and in a fire fight, consider yourself provisionally hired as a general hand aboard the Ares . The Artemis Group board (the players who own shares in the company) will need to ok you for it to become official. For that to happen, expect an interview and a background check. I believe that we threw out the sum of 4500cr/month as a starting salary. Our base salary is 3000cr, but we're spread pretty thin, so we'll try to figure out more than way for you to pitch in, and hence the 4500cr figure. Naturally, room and board, medical and such are included. We also have a profit-sharing plan that tends to pay out far more than your salary.  I know you mentioned that you can pilot. Can you be more specific about what kinds of vessels you've piloted? Can you Navigate? Did you also say that you have some Engineering and/or Mechanical skills? Do you have skills in any of the following areas: Streetwise, Steward, Medical, Sciences, or Admin? Do you have any other skills or experiences that you would like us to be aware of? Note that as an employee of the Artemis Group, you will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement as well as to submit to the authority of the Company and the Officers of the Ares .

By the way Izek a word of warning, Don't get on any of the Vargr's badsides. All of them(except Runt) can be pretty frightening when mad. Well I guess Runt has a possibility of being frightening, but just give him some tobacco and he's as harmless as a puppy towards you. (Jeff Scardack)
Runt would resent that just long enough for you to throw a cigar for him to fetch...
Yeah, don't tell him this but I've been giving him, whenever I do grace him with a cigar, the worst ones I own. I guess since he smokes cigarettes and not cigars I can understand why he is fine with the ones I give him, but man are they cheap.

Hey you you want to waste your credits on cigars made by rolling them on the thighs of beautiful human women from  Heya  be my guest. Thigh sweat and human skin cells don't affect nicotine content.
Has any one read the "Pip An Flinx" books? I am looking for a pet, and i want Flinx, He's such a pretty flying snake and so well behaved. Also Im looking for a cold sleep chamber designed for arachnids, no bigger than a couple of feet squared, and some spiders for it, as venomous as possible. hay even a small freezer as some spiders have a type of anti freeze in their blood so they can take freezing without dying. They take about half an hour to start moving and an hour or so to be fully mobile. I am also continuing my search for the following Hi-ex Coin Grenade 12 Ranged (thrown) 6d6/4d6/1d6 No - - - 100 - Mono-Filament Knife 12 Melee (blade) 2d6+3 No -2 0.5 - 400 - Mono-Filament Sword 12 Melee (blade) 3d6 No -2 0.75 - 500 - "TAZER" Advanced Boarding Vacc Suit Tl14 Av15 40,000 and well maybe a case or 2 of single molt scotch whisky 21 years old min and a couple of cases of nice campaign.
I'm... not at all sure what you're on about... Am I the only one wondering if he was sober when he posted this?
Nar I get it. Who doesn't want a flying snake!? When I was a kid we "killed" a huntsman spider by freezing it. Afterwards we took it out into the sun to take a look at it. Once it thawed out it crawled away. I never knew that about anti-freeze in a spider's system but it does match up with what we saw that day.  I was flicking through the CSC and was thinking that the Advanced Boarding Vacc Suit was just the thing for Izak. There is also a kind of non-battledress "powered armour" that requires the Vacc suit skill, but It doesn't really seem that much better. And the vacc suit seems like a great way of wearing armour without looking like you're about to go to war.
While yes i was drunk the night before, and yes it was the first drink i had had in quiet a while, i was sober. i have planes for my spiders, hehehehhehe.
as for Flinx hes just for character flavor
I was just looking at Gerald's Bio, Izek and Gerald are gunna hate each other. hahaha

Gevaudan stood over the recovering patient, Izek and examined the healing flesh about each implant.  What?  No EMP shielding for these?  Was Izek really that short of credits?  Did he not think that anti-cyber forces or agencies might make use of such against him?  Would he continue to hide behind EMP shielded starship Bridges and computer rooms?  Well.  Such was not for the Equal from the Dzen Aeng Kho to judge. Bionetic implants are automatically immune to EMP.  But not all cybernetic augments come in such.  Adding 25% to the cost of an implant makes it immune to EMP bursts, bombs or nuclear explosions.  Not all un-shielded implants and augments are susceptible to such bursts, such as subdermal armour, but many are.  Choose how best to add each implant.  EMP shielding can be added after such surgeries for another time increment of recovery.  Gevaudan likes to keep both each implant and augment EMP shielded as well as wearing his EMP shielding collar as an added layer of defense against EMP bursts.
Izek has often been chided in his life Over his poor planning about the things he does. Being possibly the youngest Darrian to have left school in many generations he never learnt to look at the big picture or to the future, seeing and re-acting to only those thing in  immediately in front of him. Upon hearing Gev's he thanks him for the statement and says at the first possible time it will be rectified. and asks is there anything else Izek should consider? then rolls over and goes back to sleep.
