Two Suggestions

It would be nice to have a link at the bottom of forum threads that takes you back to the forum topic/game forum.  its kind of annoying to have to scroll all the back up to the top to click the link back to the game forum.  it would be the same link, just have it appear at the bottom as well as the top. also, it would be nice if we could make a list of alternate screen names to use during different games.  if I have multiple characters in multiple games I would like to simply click a drop down and change my screen name.  the account name would not change, just the display name.  In that same vein, it would be awesome to have a set of different avatar pics linked to those names.  it would also be nice if I could link said name to different games so that when I post in game 1 It will use PC name1 and Pic1 but when I post in game2 it uses PCname2 and Pic2.  these links could be set up in the profile. I don't like posting using my real name.  I don't like being out of character in a game forum. currently I have 2 separate accounts, one for each game, so I can have a different name and pic for each one.

1: the back arrow may solve your needs. 2: I can see uses for the multiple visual representations of yourself. 2.5: is using multiple accounts allowed?

In the game you can go to your setting tab and change your display name to what you want for that board. If you have a character sheet made and you are set to edit it and viewable to you then you can choose your name from the bottom of the chat area in a drop down list. There is no reason to have multiple accounts. You should be able to use the home button on the keyboard to go to the top of the page.

1. Another option besides the back arrow, is your "Home" key on your keyboard. It takes you to the top of the page without scrolling the whole way. 2A. For using different screen names, you can do that currently, for your Chatroom name in the game. Once you Join Game, go to the gear settings at the top right and change your Display Name. It will remember here, your character name if you wish, and it will remember it each time you return to that game room.  (Yes your Roll20 user name would remain the same, so I understand this isn't what you were asking to change, just a related feature you might like.) 2B. +1 I agree having multiple avatars would be nice.  As a workaround for in the game room (not the forums but for where your avatar appears in the webcam position in the game) you can send a different JPG image here by using a webcam controller program on your computer, like ManyCam on PC. or CamTwist on Mac.  Such programs can be used to send any picture from your computer library, as your webcam feed. Thus you can put your character avatar in the webcam visual place. I use this. It's a nice workaround. Hope this helps in some degree. EDIT: My 1 and 2A were the same as what MetroKnight said.

1.  Yes there are many alternatives and workarounds.  I could also just use my middle mouse button and scroll up to the top, but, the point of the suggestion is that the added link at the bottom is simply the most efficient option.  the back arrow won't work if I came to the forum from a bookmark/direct link and I want to go the game homepage after reading/posting. 2.  hmmm, maybe I am missing something, but, I have no option to create a character sheet.  I thought that was something the GM had to do for me; I am asking for something I can control.  also that option only appears to be available when I "Join Game".  I want different names to use when I post in a particular game's forums, not just for when a game is active. The reason I have to use different accounts is because of the avatar pic.  the GM in one game wants our avatars to reflect out characters Icons in the game and wants our display names to be our character's names (I think its a good idea, its easier to keep track of everything that way).  but, on the other account I am the GM and I don't want my other games character portrait and name to be seen in the game I am running.  also, I have two legit email accounts so I don't see a problem there.  besides its more effort for me to switch back and forth all the time anyway.  I would prefer not to have multiple accounts and just have multiple avatar pics and display names...thus the suggestion.

Solaris, you can change your in-game display name to whatever you want by going to the settings tab in the game and changing your "Display Name." - Gauss

Yes, but that changes my name in all games across the entire account and it retroactively changes all my display names in all forum posts everywhere in every game and the community forums.  not really what I am looking for.  (notice anything different now?) what I am asking for is the ability to post with a different display name in one campaign forum and another display name in another campaign forum at the same time. for the community forums I am fine with using my main profile name since this is an out of character forum with no link to any particular game.  but for the in character forums (the specific campaign areas) I want to stay in character, like on-line cos-play. I think the problem here is that everyone is confusing the game's chat with the game's forum.  I know that I can temporarily change the name while the game is active in the game's chat window, but, I also want a separate avatar and display name to use in the campaign forum which currently cannot be done which is why I am making the suggestion to have that feature added.

NotSolaris, "Display Name" has no bearing on your account outside of the game.  1) Go into the game 2) Go to the settings tab 3) Scroll down to "Display Name" 4) Change to a different name. 5) Click Save. You asked for three things. You asked for A) The ability to change your name inside the game without using a character sheet to change it.  B) The ability to have multiple names outside of the game C) The ability to have multiple avatar images so that you can use them in different games. What people are telling you, myself included, is that "A" has a solution. Inside the game you can change your name via "Display Name". What you are confusing is a partial solution for a complete solution. People giving you a partial solution does not in any way negate the remaining suggestions.  - Gauss
