[LF2M][D&D5E] [Fridays @ 10am EST]

We are 3 PC's and a DM looking for some enthusiastic and reliable people to join our weekly 5e campaign set in wonderful world of Eberron. Our not so merry band are templars for the Church of the Silver Flame in New Cyre. We have a focus on demon hunting, and spreading the word of teh silver flame. But do not feel pigeon-holed into being co-operative to our cause. You do not have to be a templar with us. Application for PC Name Age Time Zone What makes D&D enjoyable for you? What do you like to see in a campaign? What do you expect from someone as a DM? What can they expect from you as a player? Then, your character idea. Race, class, backstory information, anything you want to pitch to the DM to want to have your character in the game. If you have multiple characters you'd be interested in playing, pitch as many of them as you would like. Any questions?
Name: Ghost Age: 24 years Time Zone: EST What makes D&D enjoyable for you? I enjoy meeting new people and exploring worlds. I'm also a big fan of trying out fun new types of characters. What do you like to see in a campaign? I enjoy exotic locales and elaborate areas that allow for lots of different solutions. I especially enjoy playing characters who are mastermind or improvisation types. What do you expect from someone as a DM? What can they expect from you as a player? My general thought for GMs is that the most difficult thing is an understanding of the spirit of the rules, rather than their strict letter. That is to say, knowing how they balance so that things stay fair and consistent when the rules don't cover something. The most important thing is probably an understanding of story structure in a large scale, so that individual moments feel dramatic. This is also a burden on the players, to be able to give the cool lines in the right moment, the dramatic lines in the right moment, and the funny jokes in the right moment. If those things get too mixed up, immersion and pacing tend to die. It's also very important that everyone remember that a game is just a game, no matter how much effort has gone into it. It's always amazing to me that people can get mad about things that are reasonable in the game setting.
we willl be playing friday mornings at 10am EST
Name: Edward Bonilla Age: 27 Time Zone: US Central What makes D&D enjoyable for you? I love meeting new people and working together with them to wreck some adventures. What do you like to see in a campaign? I love combat but of course a compelling story with interesting NPC's and mysterious elements are important. The group coming together and overcoming odds is what I like to see.  What do you expect from someone as a DM? I've only had one so far and I love the way he describes everything, from a setting to combat mechanics. I expect my DM to be well-spoken with a respectable vocabulary. What can they expect from you as a player? Enthusiasm and light-hearted fun! I love studying the lore that pertains to my characters adventure. When the initiative rolls come out I get really pumped and have a clear picture of the whole fight in my head. Then, your character idea. Race, class, backstory information, anything you want to pitch to the DM to want to have your character in the game. If you have multiple characters you'd be interested in playing, pitch as many of them as you would like: Isaac Boward: A Paladin born and raised in a holy order, he spent most of his time in service of the Archbishop, serving as his personal guard. Over the years, Isaac Boward learned the secrets of his order, but not all of the sat good with him. He learned that the order was founded through an incomplete scripture, also known as the Shattered Scriptures. Hundreds of years ago, a mysterious man was found dead in the wild, impaled on a spear but still clasping a book. The book was missing several chapters but was taken up by the one who would become the first archbishop. To this day, nothing more has been found about that man or the missing chapters. Seeking the truth, Isaac Boward requested that he be granted a pilgrimage to uncover the origin of his order. Before leaving, the Archbishop met with him in private and entrusted him with the Shattered Scriptures. It is rumored that the tome possesses a desire to be reunited with its missing pages, and once completed, everything will be revealed.
Name : Jacob Age : 26 Time Zone: EST What makes D&D enjoyable for you? Thus far, the randomness of storytelling, the rewarding/consequences of out-of-the-box thinking, and having fun with the freedom granted to all of us. What do you like to see in a campaign? Character development and getting really into our respective roles.  What do you expect from someone as a DM? Just the rule of cool. What can they expect from you as a player? Some out-of-the-box thinking. I have yet to play a game where I don't see the world for what it is.  Then, your character idea. Race, class, backstory information, anything you want to pitch to the DM to want to have your character in the game. If you have multiple characters you'd be interested in playing, pitch as many of them as you would like. I prefer to play characters that do not have some sort of world-altering goal or extreme circumstances that make them OP. I play less-than optimal characters for the sake of character development. That said, I'd like to be a Dwarf Ranger. Just a simple guy traveling around the world taking in the sights.   Any questions? Just curious on how stat allocation would work? Rolling for it or using the standard point buy?
