Enjoying a good amount of fame (28, which is suppose to be ridiculously good according to the chart but in all honesty I can't see him being renowned through many spiral arms for his accomplishments, though if it is interpreted that information can be found out about him almost anywhere that would perhaps be more logical) a certain amount of information on Jaek is available to most people interested in looking for it. Born on the tropical planet of Anjou (Frontier 1517 D757584-5) Jaek was the born into a farming family, the youngest son of 6 children (he's the fifth child and does have one younger sister). While the family was by no means poor they still saw education as the best way for Jaek to better his position in the world and pushed him hard, At 18 he was accepted into a naval academy (most likely on Micler since it is only one jump away and seems much better suited for having a naval academy). He majored in astrogation and minored in engineering and after graduating with honors attended flight school. After flight school he fought in two battles and a strike for which he was promoted to a sublieutenant and awarded a Starburst for Extreme Heroism (the source of the majority of his fame). For reasons unknown he did not opt to continue his career in the Navy but instead chose to enlist in the Scout Services where he made several (3 to be precise) discoveries. Now at 38 he has retired from the Scout Services as well. As might be expected from someone who is both a veteran and who over the past decade has spent the majority of his time away from humaniti Jaek is a bit gruff and taciturn. His clothing tends toward the utilitarian with him favoring mostly heavy cloth pants and a vest, both with lots of pockets over a lighter weight but heavy duty shirt and heavy calf-high work boots. For the most part his wardrobe tends to be darker muted colors of greys and browns. For him dark green is a fashion statement. His pockets tend to be filled with a lot of small tools that are easy to transport such as a multitool, folding knife (yes, that means he's got two knives though the folding knife has a larger blade), a ferrocerium rod, and a small rechargeable flashlight, in addition to the normal accouterments that people carry such as wallet, ID, and communicator. He also wears a bracelet woven out of about 8m of high tensile cordage. He does not carry these tools in some form of rabid 'must always be prepared' paranoia and if the situation calls for it will surrender items or else leave them 'at home' (such as if he goes into a governmental building that will not even allow pocket knives) but rather carries them the same way a modern person might carry their cellphone, wallet, and keys. They are simply items he takes with himself reflexively and it is even possible for him to forget he's carrying them when going to a situation where they might need to be surrendered. On ship he will tend to augment this tool selection with a belt pouch carrying a small selection of more dedicated tools (screwdrivers, pliers, a small multi-tester, etc.) even if he is not assigned to engineering duties and while when outside of civilization but planetside he will wear a belt knife and a different pouch containing such things as food bars, water purification tablets, and bandages (in addition to other items as the situation demands). He holds an expert certificate in astrogation, and experienced certificates in both general engineering and ACS piloting. However he only holds a qualified certificate for general piloting at the moment and while being an accomplished survival specialist and surveyor he currently holds no certificates in either.
