Hello All, I am looking into creating and running a table top version of Chrono Cross, the game that has remained my favorite RPG of all time since I first played it when it was released in 1999. I am looking for those who either love the game like I do, or are simply interested in playing a game that is relatively liner (we will be playing through the story of the game itself). Knowledge of the game itself is not a must, but it would obviously have its advantages. As I would need to create a system to emulate the game, especially combat wise, you could expect the game to start in roughly a month from now, as soon as I've found dedicated players. A little info for those who are interested: Story : We will be following the stony of the game, making slight alterations depending on PC's chosen. NOTE: I will likely being playing Serge, though if someone who is experienced in the game wants to be him, then we should talk, as I'd love to simply DM only. Characters :You will pick a character from the game itself and BE them. I have done the math and gathered the statistics on all in-game characters to properly stat them out for you. Like a video game, I will be the computer that tells you what your stats become as they rise. System : It is somewhat complex, in the background at least, but for the players it will be rather simple. Player stats will be controlled by me, like a video game is, aside for the gear you choose to equip, which will be your way of controlling somewhat of how you go about. Stats : As Chrono Cross does, the way you play your character will determine which stats go up. Cast a lot of spells and you magic stat will raise, melee all the time, Str will rise. Being attacked is how your defense is risen. For another game example like this, think Morrowind and Oblivion. Stats do not raise if not used, which yes, that means that defense can be semi luck based. Gear: All characters will have 1 weapon (the type is predetermined by who you decide to be), 1 piece of armor, and 3 accessories. Basically, yes, people who know the game will have an advantage over those that do not, but it does not mean that you are not welcome. As for choosing characters, if you don't know the game well then I will simply ask you what type of character you want to be, both in combat and personality, and we will work out who that most fits with. The only characters off limits are Lynx and Harle, which to those who know the game, are for obvious reasons. So, if you are interested in this, I am considering either a voice or a text game, whichever is most desired by those who join. I look forward to seeing if anyone is interested in this type of game. -Soulkrist
