
Session 35 Log
Rodworth wants to hack the computer of the ship we’ve
captured. He inquires with Mamba about Rabbit’s agents still on station. The
UPF guys says that there are a few possible subjects at the party.
Rod, Balta and Eusyl head over to find one of the agents,
whose waiting on a flight out. He’s a human with curly red hair. Rod sits down and says we’re going rabbit
hunting. He explains that the first thing you do it take out its allies. He
wants the agent to send a message; it’s war, scorched earth policy.
The agents asked to record it and Balta’Sax shatters his
recorder. Rodworth continues to threaten. Once we’re done, Rod askes for the
chronocom numbers of known agents and we receive a terabyte of info.
The computer is cracked. We look for info on the freeze
field bodies but there is none. No info on where he has come from. There’s a
powerful Law Enforcement program on the computer. We run the program and there
is no Rabbit Program infection. We ask the
UPF doctors to check if his many implants might have Rabbit control systems in
them.
We take the ship down. We contact our PR person to start a
campaign against the Rabbit. We pull 10K for it. We check for a chronocom and
find one that hasn’t moved at University Dome. We head over and find a Brain
Bot in a broom closet. Kyle deactivates it. We call the manager who doesn’t
recognize it. The records indicate that it’s supposed to be monitoring other
bots, but it’s been missing for months. We explain about the Rabbit’s
infiltration and ask for a high level check, and Rodworth threatens that he’ll
burn the place to the ground if things aren’t up to code.
Kyle hacks into the robot. It appears to have two
personalities that can be activated. Its decision tree is based off of whether
it can make money, otherwise it refuses. The last number was in the tectonics
dome. We check out a local number in the University Dome and it’s a major
computer. They agree to shut it down and rebuild it rather than try and fix it.
As we move along, we see other people checking out the closets.
We decide to find an organic mobile agent. They tend to only
send messages rather than receive. They usually get contacted by robots. The system is meat -> robots -> Brain
bots -> Minor Main Frame -> Super Main Frame - > Subspace Radio to
Prenglar System.
We create a message campaign that informs people about the
infection and pass out free versions of the counter-program. People begin to
form ‘possies’ to combat the infection. The monorails keep shutting down as the
mainframes are hacked. The group decides
to hunt down “meat” agents. Most of them apologize and offer their information.
Most of it appears useless. We try to find a pattern. Also, we take particular notice of the ones
who listen on a constant basis.
We end up in a Poker bar where we find somebody using a
brain bot to make money at the table. Kyle disables it and we seize it. We
decide to tap into the Subspace radio incoming message. We plan to ‘capture’ a
mainframe and there’s a government that fits the bill. Kyle will sneak in and
Eusyl will fix the fan. We hire an expert to help. He succeeds in preventing it
from deleting its programs.
We have the tech implant a program that will daisy down the
system to uninfect and beam new transmissions to us. We can talk to the gestalt program. We
explain that it has an unauthorized program on board and it’ll check for
infections, but the tech says that it’s lying to us.
We inquire if they’ve traced where on Prenglar the subspace
radio is sending messages. They’ve pinpointed several locations but there’s
some bleed and potentially anybody can intercept. Messages coming from Prenglar
are coming from Pan Gal and the UPF headquarters.
When the program is up, it delivers a status report about
the attack on the cabal. The other side says it will send a large file. It
takes an hour. We instruct the tech to shut it down once the file is
downloaded. We examine the file.
It’s a new gestalt to feed into the system and first
instruction is to offer a truce to Neon Tygers. We contact Mamba with this
information. We suggest that we send a message back directly and have somebody
local in Prenglar try to find the Rabbit. We head back to our base and have a
message waiting. “It’ll take a while why don’t you come here to talk?” We offer either meet here or midway. It says that its location is locked.
We agree to meet there and take commercial transport. It’ll
take a 11 days. We arrive on Prenglar. The meeting location is on the ground at
Grand Quivera, Fort Loren. Rabbit makes arrangements for a conference to meet.
It’s near the spaceport.
We arrive at the conference hall. We meet an attendant who
leads us to the room. There is a Dralasite waiting for us, with water and cups.
The agent introduces himself as Sorg, whose worked for the Rabbit for about 30
years. We feel there’s been a misunderstanding. Rodworth mentions the attacks
on the group. The agent questions whether those attacks were truly ordered by
the Rabbit.
He also refutes the idea of the Rabbit being a Sathar spy.
In Sorg’s experience, he’s never been asked to do anything along those lines.
The agent inquires what job or agreement would work to show his intentions are
not traitorous. He’s willing to go this far due to the bad press that accusations
of being a sathar spy.
He’s already offered info about the Sathar agents for no
recompense. Rodworth asks for info on the people who’ve attempted to take our
lives as a show of good faith. Sorg relays the message. A few minutes later, a
response comes; a set of data with names of people who built the bomb on the
ship, the aircar that almost took us out. Most ties back to Alex Strygi, though
not the bomb on the ship, which was linked to a bounty hunter who may be a
Sathar agent. The camera attacks linked to the Malthar.
We agree to the truce and reveal that the UPF believed he
was the agent. He asks to contact the UPF to see how he can convince them
otherwise. He gives us his card, Intelligence Inc.
On the way home, we learn that the Dralasite developed a
time weapon, which freezes people. There is not present defense against it
except Stamina roll. We build the new sonic pistol. The Rabbit’s program has
been effectively eliminated. There’s a report on Darkstar Station that Mr.
Beadle has seized the generator room and will blow it up in protest of his
father’s activities. There’s a lot of campaigning, attempts on candidate’s
lives. Alice has gone into hiding. Justin will make Joseph VP if he wins.
Rodworth contacts Artemis. She asks to see him.
We arrive at the compound. She lets us know that Alice is hiding with the
Screechers. There have been attempts on her life while with the Valkyries so
she left. Joseph also has had attempts on his life and has hired bodyguards.
