Fairly New Player LFG, OSR/RetroClone, Anyday other than Thursday, 4-8 EST (GM -4) Start Time.

Pretty much as the title says. Looking to join a group/play in a game using any of the various retro-clone systems (though I'm most familiar with Lamentations of the Flame Princess), or older editions of D&D. I'm generally good for any time, other than Thursdays. Currently running a game of my own, but haven't actually played in many myself being the resident GM for the group of friends I've got, and I'd like to play in one. Again, generally system-agnostic.  Thanks for your time.

I too am interested in playing in or running an old school D&D game. I was actually involved in more than one game in previous months, and had started to run games two nights a week on Roll20. Sadly, personal issues arose and I was no longer able to commit to these games. Currently I could manage one regular weekly game. I'm up for pretty much any retro-clone or iteration of old school D&D, but I am most familiar with Labyrinth Lord.

Labyrinth Lord works for me. Been doing a lot of reading through ACKS (Adventurer Conqueror King System) and it seems pretty good as well, just as easy with a bit more options and such. But I'm not really that picky.

Would you guys be into Spears of the Dawn?  Also game for Red Tide (Labyrinth Lord) or running a TSR-era setting.  Birthright, Spelljammer, Ravenloft, Savage Coast, and Planescape are favorites when it comes to that.

I have not yet looked into ACKS, but I am not adverse to doing so. I have heard positive things about it, but have not yet read enough of the material to come to an educated conclusive judgement. I can't say I'm terribly familiar with Spears of the Dawn, or Red Tide for that matter. That is not to say that I am adverse to either, however. Generally speaking, I am interested in playing in a more traditional fantasy setting, like Greyhawk or the like. I've never played in Ravenloft, though. Regarding the system, it would probably be Labyrinth Lord (with or without the Advanced Edition Companion) or B/X D&D if I was running the game. If I am not running the game, then I am up for pretty much any OSR game or old school iteration of D&D.

Yeah, that works for me. Would be quite different from the typical western setting of most RPGs.

I'm offering to run, if you don't want to.  I'm not terribly interested in traditional fantasy settings, though.  Birthright's the closest I get to that.  Red Tide is a somewhat Asian-inspired setting with horror elements and Spears of the Dawn is African culture based. As I said, I'm fine with whatever. I've got the books for Red Tide and Spears of the Dawn but again, I generally don't care which setting or system it is beyond something old school-ish.
