Ironclaw Prison [Labyrinth Lord Dungeon Crawl-by-forum]

Grott Bloodbeard wasn't the meanest warden that Ironclaw Prison ever knew, but he was certainly the worst, a terrible combination of stubborn and incompetent that left the most savage of the prison's guards essentially in charge. The inmate would have cheered Grott's death if it had come under any other circumstances, but the sudden arrival of the robed figures from beneath the Ward of Silence and the wave of blood and death they brought with them was somewhat worse. The figures made off with Grott, or at least his corpse, along with a number of items purloined from the prison's library and the warden's quarters, back into the black hole from which they had emerged. There has been no sound or sign of trouble from below, but none of the guards who went down to seal the opening and to investigate the nature of the breach have yet returned...and a mysterious storm now wracks Ironclaw Island and prevents shipments from across the Dagger Strait of food or other supplies. It's been two weeks since the last ship arrived, and the inmates and guards alike grow restless, only a matter of time before that restlessness becomes desperation. Even now, some of the bolder guards discuss the possibility of a foray into the dark, perhaps to find some path out under the waves, or hidden caches of food to last out the unending storm. The strait offers only the sweet release of death, but the tunnels below might bring something better...or something worse. --- This campaign is a forum-based dungeon-crawler using the Labyrinth Lord (B/X) rules. You will play as one of the inmates of Ironclaw Prison who has decided that braving the darkness is better than waiting for starvation and thirst to end your pathetic existence--and who knows? Beyond the tunnels below you might find your freedom, with no guards waiting to stop you from disappearing on to an entirely new life... Activity in the game will take place at your pace, depending on the choices and preferences of your party (or you alone, if you choose to go solo in the depths) using the campaign's forum, with one thread dedicated to each delve (there can be multiples). If you die, you can always start over with another inmate from above...until there are no more left and silence falls over Ironclaw Island.
