Character Options

So we don't have to skim through the original post for who is doing what, I thought this would be easier.  Post your characters Race, Class, and Sex here so we can sort out what we have. For me, I have a couple options: Halfling - Cartographer (Fighter/Thief if I recall correctly - Map Maker by profession - will be proficient with short bow as well as read/write several languages)  Dwarf - Axe for Hire or Pit Fighter (both strait up fighters - Proficient with an axe or hammer.  Basically, Grumpy of the 7 Dwarfs but with axe/hammer instead of a pick.  A heart of gold with a gruff exterior, loyal to his friends and ferocious in their defense.)  I can go with either depending on the groups needs.  I would also consider a Healer of some sort.  I believe there is one in one of the handbooks.

probablly a human male barbarian though i am considering a fighter too. i am flexible to chose another function if needed such as thief or cleric.
A half-elf thief, secretive and a little sullen.
A male human bard. I'm not sure about my equipment yet.
Its getting close to start time and i would like to know if everyone has their character ideas finalized.
I'll do a male Dwarf Fighter then, I'll see what rolls I get and determine a kit afterwards.  I'll try to have it ready by Wednesday at the latest, hopefully later today after I finish some errands.
kits aren't mandatory...but i do know they add flavor to the game
Unless someone already has a Ranger, I rolling for Ranger/Archer.
Finally rolled up my character - I'll be going with a Dwarf Fighter (Gladiator Kit if that's OK with the GM)
Mark - for Equipment, I rolled 130gp for my character (still working on a good name), do we go with that or do we get max starting gold??
go with the 130gp and the gladiator kit is fine...you must start off with one of the three sets of gladiator armor and at least on gladitorial weapon
OK, I was going with the Drusus for his sword and will look over the armor selections again. Thanks
there is the thracian, gallic, and samnite armors
So do you have peoples to represent Thracians culture? How have you included the Samnites? Do you have a representive of their most famous citizen?
Its just the style of armor. if anything those peoples are Greek so the Queendom of Amazonia (i know...the name needs work) is based on Classical Greek and Rome..Gallic armor is another type of gladitorial armor..
Hey, that queen's name isn't Xenia is it? But that makes sense, the Greeks and later Romans conquered all of those cultures. The Thracians I find very interesting since so little is known about their origins, and a very interesting culture, and yes I know I am a nerd. I love studying ancient cultures, and even different modern ones too.
no...its not Xena.
there is a country that borders the PCs homeland that has gladiatorial games..that country has more of a spanish flair..ala el cid
the Cid, I can dig it. The flash of Spanish Steel..... Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!

Wow, looking really fun, and a through DM, hard to find these days. Well, I am Human BeastMaster Ranger-archer. Dar is the roughing it kind, and he means roughing it. Including making your own weapons and clothes. But NOT stupid or dumb, it is his clans culture and beliefs, and he continues their traditions to honor their memories. He is strong, quick, cunning, smart, and deadly. He knows about animals and can heal them as well. He also knows about the plants and flowers of the wild, what heals and what poisons. He may even be able to heal a humanoid. He likes swimming and archery. He can make weapons out of things he finds.  Dar is really good at making bows, quality ones, and arrows too. He is kind and helpful, but determined in a goal. Be for warned, he Despises the filthy gnolls and will seek to slay them above all else. And, do not mistreat an animal near him. He doesn;t have to see the abuse, he will know.
Yeah I have my character ready I just hope I have everything set up right
I set up a human assassin
Calus Anvilforge is my character.  He is a Dwarf Blacksmith forced to become a Fighter (Gladiator).  He is currently out for revenge against a couple of Dwarves that swindled him and forced him into the Gladiatorial Arena (If you want more details you'll have to ask him, but he might not tell you).  Having sold off his shop, he is currently trying to make his way through odd jobs and use his newly learned skills.
So, for a head count we have: 2x Fighters (1x Human Ranger & 1x Dwarf Gladiator) 1x Thief (Assassin) What else is anyone working on?
My thief and Jared's Bard that were mentioned at the top of the chat.
1 melee fighter, 1 ranged fighter, 2 thief/assasses, and a bard. Looks like we need a healer.
i might swap out my Bard NPC for a "Cleric" type...that is if anthony ever gets ahold of me
seeing the group lay-out i chose a priest so there will be someone to heal you guys when you all get into trouble :)
mighty nice of you
Mark and I were talking about rolls and formulas, here is one I have from another game that makes attack rolls and damage all at once: /em attacks with his Drusus, hitting AC:[[@{thac0}-(1d20+1+0@{strengthhit})]] or worse, doing [[1d6+1+0@{strengthdmg}]] / [[1d8+1+0@{strengthdmg}]] damage.
