Tabletop Wargaming

I am not sure if this has ever been suggested but Roll20 should develop tools for wargaming such as Warhammer 40k, Kings of War, The 9th Age. all of these games have a large following and are very much a part of the table top gaming world. Recently I was introduced to a site that is "in theory" similar to roll20 called universal battles.  The site is hands down inferior to roll20 but because they have tools specifically for table top wargaming people are willing to continue using it. I might be wrong but this could bring in a whole new demographic to the roll20 family. it would be fairly simple to create with a little time. Ill list below a couple of the most recommend tools. Premade templates 3" and 5" blasts Simple way to upload Armies worth of tokens a mechanic to allow the movements of units worth of tokens Wheeling feature in addition to rotating  With just these few features you could play a large number of table top wargames on Roll 20 with ease, and bring in new players that may not have tried roll 20 other wise.
This is a great idea! I have tried to do it with the current tools, and while it works some dedicated support would definitely make it better.
Hello, I am a game store owner developing a 4x6 touchscreen table-top to provide a unique experience for my gamers. I am intending to use it for a wide variety of games, WarHammer 40k and DND are my too largest but x-wing and bolt action are also requested. In addition, card games such as Vanguard which have shows that use too cool graphics. I have purchased the most expensive support package with hopes of working on this. All I really need from the warhammer thing is supporting lots of touchpoints and showing the range each token has for it's weapons. Specifically, movement, and 1 range circle for each weapon. Preferably only when touched. It will make games much faster and better. In addition, terrain tokens that represent buildings and block line of site. I am not in a rush or anything but I want to give this a shot.

Check the Roll20 Wiki docs, or ask on Roll20 Specific Questions forum for help with any particular area. Range can be shown using Ruler Tool, or Token Aura, or drop-in another graphic overlay to show it. Token Aura would be great for showing range circles. Terrain tokens are accessible in the Art Search and Marketplace. Blocking line of sight is on the Dynamic Light layer and page settings. Showing the Aura circle "only when touched" is not a built-in feature right now, but with a community-created API script -- try one called TokenMod -- you can set up a macro button or Token Action to quickly toggle the visibility of the aura circle ON / OFF.
