Brand new player, looking to learn/play.

I'm very interested in trying to break into these games(Primarily D&D). I've always wanted to, but never had the medium and/or friends to do so. Recently got turned onto this by watching a stream, and they played this, was a bit of a eureka moment. I haven't had any experience with these type of games, have very little knowledge on the rules, etc. But -very- willing to learn, and be patient. I have a great amount of experience roleplaying, so that's a non-issue. Would anyone be willing to teach me how to play, and would be willing to let me play with them? Also if someone could direct me to materials I could read to try to figure out some of this for myself, I would be very grateful. 

Andrew, it may help DM's looking for players if note down what time zone you are in and what times you are available.  Also, are there any particular games systems that you are more interested in than others?  If you have had the chance yet, you can also take a look at the  Looking For Group Search Tool  and see if any of the games there match what you're looking for.
