We're picked up and are taken back to Pinnacle after our ship went boom. The medics took a look at us and we ask to talk to Mumba. Rodworth says we should head out to the station at Lost Reach to get the space port open to do repairs on the ships damaged in the Sathar encounter. He has designs on commandeering the station for the Neon Tygers. We fly down to the planet and pick up the ship in the secret garage and head back to Styrigia. We do our best to round up construction workers to come help repair the station. Kyle buys 2 L4 repair bots and Rodworth gets 4 neophyte, recently graduated students to go with us. As we're getting our stuff together, an aircar lands and a schmuck and his thugs get out and approach us. He's a rep from the Malthar's insurance company and they want to bill us for the Goldenrod. Kyle tells him off and says that he woke up in space with no memory of recent events. We outfit the students, load up the robots and head to the station at Lost Reach. We head out at 2G acceleration and get quickly followed by the military at a matching speed. A day out, we get a message from Mumba asking that we come see him on our return. We also start getting harassing messages from the insurance company. When we arrive at the station, it's powerless. No signals coming from the station at all. We can see the surface camps, but there is no activity...at all. The UPF went in ahead of us to look for traps, etc. The place was clean. Kyle docked in and we head to the power room. There are generators, but no fuel pellets. We search around for what's around and find a whole cargo unit of robot brains. We discover that they're only about a week old. Deducing that they were manufactured here, we go in the station and find a well to do medical bay. However, this bay is loaded with equipment to efficiently extract brains. In the bay, we find a list of ID's that match the people who were the passengers of the starliner that went missing about 2 weeks back. We communicate this to Mumba and ask for the supplies we need to power up the station. In talking to Mumba, we tell him about the insurance agency and their collectors. He says he can deal with them. The previous tenants of the station were disgusting. There is garbage everywhere...corners were used as urinals...you name it. We then leave the station to explore the asteroid. We go to the closest camp to check it out. Upon arrival at the dome (.5km diameter), we find a ship. A HS6 freighter named "The Tarra". It hasn't been reported stolen and appears abandoned. We claim salvage on the ship and begin exploring. The cargo bay is completely empty. There is damage in here and there are holes in the skin, so it can't be pressurized. We move up to the main part of the ship to explore. Nosing around, we see some cargo boxes and such. The main ship is pressurized. Exploring, we come across a somewhat feline/canine looking animal that runs down a jeffries tube and hides. Kyle tries to fire up an engine to supply power to the ship. It starts making funny noises, so he shuts it down quickly. The second engine is damaged. He tries to spin up the third and it makes the same noise as the first. Someone has obviously booby trapped the engines. It looks repairable, but it'll take some time. We then decided to move on to the dome. Approaching the dome, we find several empty cargo containers that were labeled soil, life support, animal feed, etc. We enter into a garage that contains 5 heavy forklifts and an explorer. Opening the internal door, we're hit with a wave of humidity. Looking inside, its a self-contained jungle. There are chickens, pigs, etc. There are fruit trees, vegetables...all food based items. There are no junk plants. Everything is edible. There are robots tending the plants, picking and storing food. We open the door just south of the garage and we're surprised by several quillbats that fly quickly out of the room and attack. We kill the ones attacking us quickly, but a few slip by and out into the dome. In the quillbat room, there are a few bunks, computers, generator and such. We find another explorer and another 5 forklifts. We also find a few misc. weapons, run of the mill stuff. We contact the station and find out that the UPF is moving the fleet here to assist in repairs, so they can use the facilities to repair their ships. The bots and students are assessing and repairing what they can, but with the fleet inbound, it's almost moot at this point. We end for the evening here, waiting for folks to return.
